So today we paid our 4th installment to our RH. It was also the LAST installment for this year until our very final payment!! We paid a little extra so it isn't as hard on our bank accountst later next year. So far we've paid 15,000 to the hall. On Friday, we applied for a pre-approval for a mortgage since we found a house that we love and are just ready to buy a home. After I realized how much we have put into the wedding so far, I was a bit taken back by what we could have been putting towards a home! I want this wedding so bad, and I know FH does too--I just wish we reconsidered how much money we would put into it!!

Holy Reality!!!
Weddings are CRAZY! FH & I have been discussing buying a house since our lease expires Oct 2014 (10 months after our wedding) and its so expensive! Everything is crazy money. Luckily, Suffolk County where we live there are houses in our price range but I am getting nervous that 10 months won't be enough time to find, buy and move in. Yikes.

It is crazy how much money goes into one day. Fh and I lucked out and are half inheriting the house we are moving into. The other half belongs to his uncle so we will have to buy him out so still is gonna take a toll on wedding savings.

THIS is exactly what I always thought, that it would take a lot of time. We decided we were going to look for houses Sept. 25th 2008...We closed on November 26th!

We decided that we have the rest of our lives to buy a house or own a home and more of a time limit (bc of the ring he put on my finger) to have the wedding we want... But knowing we're spending money that we could be using towards our future home is so hard!
But good luck on this process!!!

Wow! It's really nuts to think about how much money we drop on weddings.

This was the same for us! We started looking on Sept. 18 2011, put an offer for a house on Sept. 21, it was accepted Sept. 22 and we closed on November 30th! I thought it was going to take so much longer but we found something we loved that was in our budget and it moved quickly from there.

I actually didn't want the wedding I wanted the house more but fh wanted the traditonal wedding. I told him finacially we can't do both. So we just saving as much as possible for the wedding hopefully after the wedding we will buy a house.

That's exactly why I asked my FH before wedding planning if he wanted to start looking at homes now or wait a few years because I knew we couldn't afford both at the same time. He said no at the time and has now informed me that he does want us to buy a home, stressful.
