Home from Georgette's...Got an amazing bra!!! glinda_goodwitch--READ!!

Okay, so earlier today I posted about a poor phone call I had with Mary's Corsetiere, then called Georgette's, it was night and day. I ended up going there after work to get a bra, as my first fitting is Monday, nothing like waiting til the last minute!

Okay, so I arrive at 5pm, they close at 6, but last fitting is 5. The lady (I believe her name was Helen) asked what I needed. When I said I needed a bra for my wedding she asked to describe the dress, which I did. She walked me into the dressing room, took a few measurements and returned with a bra. Showed me how to put it on, and she returned when I was ready to hook me up. She had me try on 3 different ones til we found one that was just right. The first too I had to much boobage folding by my armpits. Those w/ large chest know what I mean. This bra was SO comfortable. I, being a 38DDD, have NEVER found a strapless bra to be comfortable. This longline strapless was amazing. This was the one time I didn't care what the size of a garment was, just wanted it to be comfortable.

She then asked if I was going to be wearing pantyhose, told her no then she suggested a support panty, b/c if not, it would be quite noticable the extra skin ('fat') would be visible under the dress. Pantyhose would hold it in though. She measured me again (hips/waist) and brought back the MOST comfortable pair of support panties I EVER tried on!!! OMG! Love them! I asked about regular bras too and ended up buying 2 everyday bras!

I TOTALLY recommend this place!! And the prices are SO reasonable. For me, an everyday bra runs 25-30$. This longline strapless was $44 and the support panties I think were $30. The total with tax for the strapless, panties and 2 everyday bras was $148!!

Now I am ready for my first fitting on Monday 4/17!!

eta: i didnt' even know she sold pantyhose too, i hope she has different styles and ones long enough for tall people too!

No appointment was needed. Their exact address is 964 S. Broadway (aka Rte 107) Hicksville. They are across from Grummans, north of Hempstead Turnpike. Their hours are Tues 10-4, Wed, Thu, Fri 10-6, Sat 10-5 and Sun, call for appt. The last fitting is 1hr prior to closing. They did tell me they may shorten their hours for tomorrow and Saturday b/c of Good Friday and Easter, so call to double check their hours before going. The phone # is 516-433-7207!

I am not sure if they sell pantyhose, I did not get, nor will I be wearing pantyhose. I bought support panties.

I don't know if I told you about Georgette's or another bride, but I posted yesterday that I love how HONEST she is! She will go into that dressing room with you to help you (which feels a little weird at first since we're almost naked!), and if she doesn't like something, she will TELL you flat out. She will point out the fat folds (lol)... but I'd rather have HER tell me to try something else instead of a salesperson who is trying to make a sale and lets you go out into the world with fat bulges showing! lol. You made a GREAT choice by going to Georgette's... when I get 'the call' that my dress is in, that's the first place I'll go to get the PERFECT undergarments! I'm glad you had a GREAT experience and will now look your absolute best!

I went there about 2 weeks ago and she is great! I'm a 38DD...but I had to get a 38F in the longline bra. She is so honest, but not in a rude way. I bought an everyday bra from her and it's so comfortable and no more $$$ then a place like Victoria's secret...I think it was $30. I highly recommend Georgette's as well.
