Home from our AMAZING Greek Honeymoon

OMG we had an amazing time in Athens, Santorini and Mykonos. Just the perfect amount of siteseeing and relaxation. Everything went perfect except for a major screwup with our airfare through travelocity. It took us endless hours on the phone with them (which got expensive) for them to finally fix it and it cost us at least the $350 for a missed night at our resort in Mykonos. I'll detail it in my review but we will NEVER use travelocity again!

We stay in Firastefani at a place called Villa Ilias, they were GREAT and the place was very nice. We even got a free dinner and bottle of champagne for being on our honeymoon.


And we're still fighting with Travelocity. They claim they called us to let us know the one flight was canceled, but we have no record of voice mails or emails from them. They put us up in the seediest hotel in Athens, even the cab driver was like 'your staying here?'. Plus they gave us a $100 credit towards a future purchase with them (which we most certainly will NEVER do), and they think that makes up for their mistake.

Ugh that Travelocity thing sounds like a nightmare. It happened to my friend too that had a death in the family that was coming for my bachelorette party. It ended up costing her more to CANCEL the ticket than it would've to come!

We were in Fira at the Tsekos Villas, swear to god, I've never walked that many steps in MY LIFE...i thought I was going to die. I was fine hiking a volcano, but the hotel was another story.

Santorini was my fave too...I was there from 16-19 and Kate I was looking for you!!

And our hotel in Athens was my fave hotel of all of Italy and Greece...the King George was spectacular!!!!!!!!

That walk along the pedestrian path from Fira to Firastehani was torture, esp after eatting a heavy dinner. Between that and the hikes to all the ruins, I don't think DH and I have walked so much in our lives.
I wanted to stay at katikies so badly, but it was out of our budget.

Katikies was amazing!!!!! lots of steps though too. the infinity pool was ridiculous, we spent 2 days just by the pool. I wanted to eat at King George, that hotel looked gorgeous!!! Did you eat at the rooftop restaurant? i liked athens, a lot of people say to not spend a lot of time there, but i enjoyed it. Its too bad we didnt run into each other, we could have had some drinks!!

We were going to eat there the last night, but to be honest we were so sick of sitting at dinners for hours, we ended up walking and walking down that main shopping block and we found an irish bar that was playing NFL football! We had bangers and mash, hahahah
