home from tahiti
1st let me say we are depressed to be home. we loved it there so much I didn't want to leave. we took the straight flight from jfk and it wasn't bad at all. it went really fast and it was comfortable. but the food is absolutely disgusting. bring a sandwhich and snacks, we stayed at the sheraton in papette b/c our flight got in at 1am and our plane to moorea didn't leave till 11am. we didn't see much of it and the staff wasn't too friendly but they have a great breakfast buffet. we then left in the morning to go to moorea. we loved moorea. we stayed in a garden bungalow with a plunge pool at the pearl. we loved it. the staff was so friendly. we loved the plunge pool. Jumping in it after laying out was the best. we found the food to be pretty gross at the pearl. but no big deal. we walked to the local market and there is a place called carmelines where we would get eggs toast coffee for half the price of what the pearl charged and it tasted good. we had dinner at maria tapas its a tex-mex place and it was really good. we also ate at alfredos and thought it was really good as well i got my pearl from eva pearls and she is so nice and informative.Instead of doing the safari tour we rented our own mopeds which another couple suggested. we are so glad we did this because we were able to see everything the tours showed only on our own time. we went around the whole island 2 times. we stopped at pretty beaches the tours didn't stop at and took pics. The juice factory was fun. we did shots or all the liquors they had and they just keep giving them out. we met a couple there that were staying at the sheraton and I have to stay there resort was nicer. I liked the pearl but the sheraton was nicer. they have bar out with the owb and nice restaurants. the couple we met did the dolphin thing at the ic and said it was amazing. we didn't want to spend the money so we didn't. The people on moorea are the friendliest people and we talked to a lot of the locals. next was bora bora. i do suggest trying to get the left side on this flight. the view is insane and I took a million pics from the plane. We stayed at the bora bora nui and couldnt have been happier. It is gorgeous and I love that we are on a private motu. the boats run about every hr and its free to take to the main island. First let me say make a reservation NOW for villa mahana for dinner. its on the main island we live in nyc and eat out often. this was the best meal either of us have ever had in our lives. They only serve 6 dinners a night. so call now. it was truly amazing. we also ate at bloody marys and thought it was a really good time. if you can try to eat on the main island ofter the food at the resort isn't that great. not bad though. We went parasailing and it was amazing. we also did the sunset cruise and thought that was beautiful as well. we didn't do the shark feeding b/c we have no desire to intentionally get in the water with sharks but I hear its fun. The nui was great though they bring water, fruit and cookies around to you while you are laying out. The beaches are awesome. The pool is great too. the couple we met on moorea was staying at the nui as well and we hung out with them the whole time. so we would be in the pool till 1am drinking every night.
I didnt really use that much sun block so I think one bottle is enough. we had no need for water shoes. we stayed in bungalow 311 and it was the best for snorkeling. the yellow and black fish swim right up to you. also behind bungalow 330 in the coral is a moray eel. it was so amazing. also the pearl had one american outlet but not at the nui. I have to run but if I think of anything else I will post.

Great review - thanks! I am also staying in a garden bungalow with plunge pool at the Moorea Pearl...glad you liked it.How long would you say it took you to go around the island of Moorea on the mopeds? We're only on Moorea for 3 days so just trying to figure out how much time we want to spend doing an excursion like that...thanks!
Please share some pics...can't wait to see!
