I can't sit still anymore!! The awesome house FH & I were dealing with accepted our bid Monday night, and the inspection is tomorrow. I can't wait to find out all the nitty gritty details about it, and also just to be back inside and remember all of the great things I might have forgotten. I wish we could just move in already Cheezy? Yes, but I'm still in shock about this whole thing
Update: So not a terrible inspection! There were a lot of cosmetic issues, but since I plan on repainting just about everything, those aren't in the way (the house has one poop-green wall and everything else is blush colored? not my style) Structurally the house is fine, but the inspector did see some evidence of old, nonactive termite damage, so we'd want them to either get termite protection installed or prove if they have it already. I'm so glad it wasn't the end of the world...FH was really overwhelmed by everything but once he started listening to the comments, and that all the main little things were just cosmetic, he cheered up :)

Take pictures of everything..windows etc. This way when you have your walk through prior to closing you have evidence that the house was a certain way (for example if there is a crack in the window they can say it was there but you might not have seen it).

Great idea! I wanted to take pictures anyway because all the best aspects of the home aren't in the realtor pics - I'll make sure to get windows and such in too!

Congrats! If you see any dampness in the basement though (leakage from the walls, crumbling walls, water stains) I would RUN. I have seen people buy houses whose basements leak when it rains and it's nothing but a nightmare for them.
