I keep hearing everyone talk about it and saw a commercial for it. WHere is it??? I want to go!

I have seen it, I think it is on 347 in the Stony Brook area.

There is one in Rockville Center.

I hear The Home Store is the type of place you gotta catch on a good day. I went for the first time a couple weeks ago and didn't find much at all - nothing special. But my MIL loves the place. The store had mostly X-Mas stuff out and I guess I am not in the mood for X-mas yet!!

Are you ladies talking about Home Goods?

If so, it's owned by the same parent company as Marshalls and TJMaxx...they sell all sorts of great things for the home, but it can be hit and miss.

I went to the one in Commack (Home Goods) and was really disappointed. It was more like a junk store with stuff thrown all over the place. I left without buying a thing!

I'm assuming we're discussing Home Goods here.

The store on 347 in Stony Brook is a Mega Marshalls. (It's actually one of my favorites. ) But there is a Home Goods in Port Jefferson on 347.

Although TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods are owned by the same company, they have different buyers and carry different goods (although many times you'll see the same items in all the stores.)

Like everybody said, they're a hit or miss. If you have time to kill, they're worth checking out. (Their scheme is to not carry a large inventory on each item, that way you feel compelled to purchase the item right then and there as opposed to waiting on it.)

I think you girls are getting confused with Home Goods store and the Home Place or Home Store (something like that).

They are both in shopping centers with Home Expos! :)

The Home Goods store is in Commack, and Stony Brook and Rockville Center. Owned by Marshalls/TJ Maxx, hit or miss like the girls said.

Last night, going to Fortunoffs, we passed a Home Place or Home Store (the title was). Didn't go in, but it was not a Home Goods, I don't think. It was also in the Home Expo shopping Center by Fortunoffs.

Denise, I thought that Home Place buy Fortunoff has been closed for over a year or so? Did it re-open???

Hi Claud.

I am sorry, I wasn't clear. I just passed the sign by the street. I don't know if the store was opened or not. I just assumed so because the sign was lit. But who knows.... :)

My MIL has got me into home goods. I go to the one in Rockville Centre. MY MIL said they get new stuff in there all the time.
