How are school taxes assessed according to your property? Just curious. I know mine are about $4000 and that's just SCHOOL taxes. How did they figure them out?

If you look at your bill there should be a rate for each item on your tax bill that is applied based upon the assessment of your property. (such as $50 for every $100 of assessed value). The sum of all monies collected from each tax payer for each line item should equal the overall budget for that line item.
Feel free to call the assessor's office in your town for a more detailed answer. That is what they are there for!

Just so you know: That is what the Star Programs brings down. You have to apply in September for the following October.
