What documents do you need when you are going to be pre qualified for a mortage??
Frankie likes to throw everything other than paystubs out. I am nervous about that! Does any one know?

Recent Pay Stubs Most Recent Bank Statements Last two years of tax returns If you currently own something bring your most recent mortgage statement That should be enough to get you started
They may also ask for other statements showing assets you own like brokerage account statements, retirement plan statements etc. Good Luck

We needed 2 or 3 years tax returns, 3 months bank statements, we also brought proof of other assets, like retirement accounts, brokerage accounts, and be prepared to let them know of any large debts and the amount owed, ie: student loans, car loans, balances on credit cards if you're not paying them off every month. Also, a recent pay stub with YTD earnings.

Do we have to have our credit card statements? That is what he throws out. He yelled at me because I keep everything for 7 years, which is what I thought you were supposed to do?

We were never asked for credit card statements. When they do a credit check on you, they can see all that info so I wouldnt worry about the statements

We didn't need credit card statements but we are debt free there - so not sure if you have balances.
Bank statements (all accounts), 401K statements, my student loan statement, stocks/trading account statements, tax returns, etc. we some of the stuff we needed to use for our mortgage process.

they also asked for my college loan info.
i was so crazy about having everything photocopied & organized & i honestly don't think the bank looked at most of it. she scanned most of the documents & only asked to keep our bank account info.
on our prequal application it just asks that we list...it says nothing about bringing in the statements...
DH has a lot of land in his name (all of his moms for tax purposes), but the paper work is in AZ and MIL is out of the country...and we are going 8/23 to prequal...
