What is a homeowners association? Does it have the rules of a condo or a coop? TIA

Re: Homeowners Association
homeowners association does have certain rules, but I think each individual association is different. you own the home, but sometimes the land is affected ie: you're not allowed to fence it, etc. each one is different.

Re: Homeowners Association
if you are thinking of buying a place that has a HOA make sure you get a copy of the rules before you sign the contract. Most will dictate what you can and cant do to you house and other rules of the neighborhood
