So-- you have your closing date set by all parties involved.. I keep hearing- oh, it'll change-- or something always holds it up, etc. from friends, relatives-- whoever has a freakin' opinion!
Anyway- my question is did your closing date change after it was determined-- and if so- by how long, and what was the reason??

Our date was on or about June 1st and we closed June 25th.

people rarely close on their 'on or about date'
we are still waiting for our actual closing date so I wish I could answer your question!! My friend who recently closed didnt have her date change... i really dont think they change much unless something unforseen happens...

Unfortunately ours changed a few times On our contract the on or around date was 7/19/05 we have been cancelled 3 times and we are now supposed to close tomorrow (8/2/05). It has been aggravating to say the least.

Ours was originally April 27 I believe, which wasn't very realistic. We closed May 21.

It's normal to close withing 30-45 days of the 'on or about' closing date listed in your contract...which is something to take into consideration when you negotiate that date. We made our 'on or about' date July 1st, b/c we wanted to close around the end of July. We closed July 22nd.

I'm very interested in this as well...
Our closing date is supposed to be September 14th. I'm hoping that it stays close to that date, since I will be moving home for a month - and FI lives in westchester, so this is going to be interesting....
Anyway, it was supposed to be 8/14, but the homeowners couldn't be out in time.
Also, what about closing costs? Is there an approx range?

We closed on our closing date. I wanted it sooner, but it wasn't possible. I was trying for the end of November, but their attorney was on vacation. But it was set for Dec 9 and that's when we closed.

we had on or about august 30,of last year, closed november 2 - the week of our wedding
