I posted this on newlyweds too but figured might get more help here!
For those of you who own your home, who did you use for home owner's insurance? I've been told to just go with who I have for car insurance, which is Geico, but didn't know if you guys have found homeowners at a great price after shopping around. Who knew that house buying was such a complicated experience?

Re: Homeowners Insurance
My former fiance (who I bought the house with) had his car insurance through State Farm and got the house insurance through them too. I still have State Farm for home insurance.

Re: Homeowners Insurance
I have Geico for my car insurance. But they don't 'specialize' in homeowners. They sell it out or however you want to word it.
I went to Allstate and got a good deal. They were lower then State Farm and I have heard pretty good things about them.
Good luck.

Re: Homeowners Insurance
We also have allstate for our homeowners insurance...pretty good price and as soon as we installed our alarm the cost went down 10%

Re: Homeowners Insurance
Allstate too - better price than most of the others. I have car ins with Geico but they don't give you a multi-policy discount for insuring your home with them (because they have a third party company that does their homeowners ins) so there was no benefit.

Re: Homeowners Insurance
my family has statefarm, we found them to be the best in handling any problems... my FI then ended up with a job in statefarm and they treat their workers better than the other companies..
