Homeowners: Which lending institution did you use and at what interest %

also, if you don't mind answering is you and/or you FH/DH's credit excellent?

JP Morgan Chase (DH works there so to our advantage) and yes we had both had very, very good credit. Edited to say - I think we locked around 5.25% or so....

We also have Chase. We refinanced this year and went from 8.25% (closed in Oct. 2000) to 5.25% in May 2003. Both of us have excellent credit scores.

USAA @ 6.125% (just refinanced this summer) and yes, he had an excellent credit history.

We have Country Wide, and our % rate is 6 1/3.

Patrick and I both have immaculate credit.

Citibank. Locked in at 5 7/8. I have excellent credit but hubby has good credit. If your credit score in in the 600s, you are in good shape.

We went with ABN AMRO, locked in at 4.5% (5/1 ARM), and we have excellent credit.

My parents just refinanced our home w/ commerce bank with 4.75% - and they have good credit.

we are using Wells Fargo...we have 4% 3/1 ARM

(I think it was 6.5% fixed)

We actually went just through DH's credit (I have excellent credit, but no job, so we tried him only and it was fine)...DH has very little credit (which can be a s bad as bad credit)...he had nothing until 2 years ago when I put all the utilities in his name...and he got a credit card for the first time!!!

but we did not need a jumbo loan...so I don't know if that makes a difference

just wanted to add...i think credit rating is just for the amount of the loan...not the interest rate...

we have Washington Mutual...at 6%. We had Excellent Credit.

We are going with Sunrise Bank - 6&1/3% (it is a jumbo mortgage - always higher interest rate)

Mid Island Mortgage
5 7/8%
Both had/have excellent credit

I just got a quote of 6.375 from Astoria Federal for a 30 yr fixed. Is this good? We both have excellent credit. I haven't been able to find anything lower. If anyone has found anything lower please let me know. Thanks

We are using JP Morgan CHase, since they are the only ones we could find that would do the construction to permamnt laon with one closing, and would allow us to get cash out of the property that was being sold to us. We have a rate of 5.25, but we haven't locked into that rate yet, since we don't knwo when the house will start.
