HONEST opinions & feedback pleasee-bump for '09 barbie

I saw invites I reaaaallly loved. I bought a sample last week. they came in the mail today and i was soo disappointed! the paper was thin and cheap. the bow is a nice quality satin... but for 4$ an invite , in my opinion its wayyyyyy tooo much to have my mother spend. I showed her the sample today and she loved it and is willing to spend it.. but its insane for flat invites lol

I went to ac moore after work today and i saw these invites. they were 4$ (after my 50% off coupon)for 10. Im going to have to buy diff envelopes. (where and how much they cost.. i have no clue- some1 please point me in the right direction-ty!)

I am thinking of applying swarovski crystals on 5 of the flowers. do you think it is a good idea? also, what color light pink or diamond? and i should ditch the satin bow right? i wouldnt do BOTH crystal and bow.. but def crystals and not the bow.

sorry for making u dizzy!!!

should i just keep looking for diff invites?? or should i just have my mom buy the 4$ ones. they will be more $ if i choose a white ink instead of the standard black.

Hmmm...sometimes I can't read, so I might be missing something... where would the crystals go?

for paper I highly recommend cardsandpockets.com... good prices, decent quality.

I think crystals + bow might be overkill.... maybe just crystals instead?

I like them. They are really pretty. I would ditch the bow though and do the crystals only, like you said. Also, its just an idea, but what if you did a darker color font? It may give it a different look... But they are great invites. What an awesome find. Barb your are so martha stewart...

i'm a lil confused too...the pink with bow..is that the envelope? why are you buying new envelopes?

i like crystals..i think they are subtle and very pretty and dainty

for a shower..i cant see spending $4 an invite, for the wedding yes, but not the shower IMO

im def not doing bow and crystals! lol i think just the crystals. i dont know how to make a nice bow.

sandra, what color font? should i just do black? .. the pix show it as an 80's peachy pink... in person its a nice blush baby pink.
maybe get like paper glitter spray? or thats tooo sweet 16?

i hate thiss

the 1ist pic with 2 invites... the one on the left is 4$ invite.. and the one on the right is my 40-cent DIY invite.

the glitter might be too Sweet 16 or overkill with the crystals. How about a darker pink?

Im lost, is that the pic of what you ordered online or what you got at the store? Either way I like it and agree no bow add chrystals.

4 per invite if you do not LOVE it is too much IMO

they look very similar..i would do the DIY one. maybe just a darker shade of pink on the font so theres a little contrast

Why not do a chocolate brown. It compliments the pinky color... or you could do black, try it, only because Black and Pink is soooo chic together. As for the glitter spray... I think it may be a bit much if u are doing crystals.. plus you have the pretty decor on the invite itself. Experiment until you find the style you like. I did that for my e-party invites. I drove FH nuts but they came out so nice. They were diamond white, with black lettering...

i LOVE the $4 invite.. but the paper is half the thickness of my DIY invite that costs 40 cents.. so i was caught a lil off guard. i was expecting some reallly nice fkn expensive feeling paper...and all i got was a glorified looseleaf lolol

maybe michaels has diff ones.

oh and this is where the crystals r guna go.. on the purple dots ... 5 total.. they are guna dip to a V like the design.. watcha think?? pink or diamodn color??

um i really like the diy ones..i feel like something at the top might be nice though since there's so much going on at the bottom..but crystals are always fun..

and i actually like the ink color, but maybe you could just do your name in a dif. color if you want a lil contrast?

on the $4 invite website, they had it in black lettering. i feel black would look too cheap? like im to po' to spend extra $ on colored ink. lol but yeaaaa

pink envelopes and calligraphy printed addresss in black.. mucho gusto!!!!!

I think adding the crystals would be a good idea, it will make it 'pop' a little.

What about just doing custom invites with a vendor? You can do it cheaper then $4/invite, if you are looking for something fairly simple.

i think theyre really cute, i would go with the crystals and dithc the bow, but i also think for $4 an invite you can find ones you love as is!!! have you looked on etsy? i have a similar invite that i saved, if your interested i can email you some pics of shower invites off etsy i have saved on my comp

I like the idea of the crystals (& your placement of them) and getting rid of the bow. Bows are a PITA to assemble, anyway!

I wouldn't do the glitter spray AND the crystals. One or the other. (I still prefer the crystals in this case.)

Are you still looking for envelopes? Go to Paper Presentation in NYC. Their website doesn't do the store justice. It's amazing in there. Here: Paper Presentation!!!

ETA - I think those invites are very cute.

i love how chocolate brown and pink looks together but there's something about black and pink that's really sexy!
i agree with Sandra, if you have that pretty design on ur invites along with a few crystals that's all you need...
i'm playing around with the idea of adding crystals to my invites also...

I would definitely go with the invites you bought at Michael's. They look almost identical to the $4 invite, and the quality of paper on an invite is really important.
I like the idea of applying the crystals, but I think it will be a lot of work for you to do. I think a darker pink font, like a fuschia, would complement the lighter pink detailing. I would go with pink crystals.

I like the idea of the crystals and the placement of them. I could see how the pink font could look realy pretty in person but the computer isn't doing it justice. I would do clear crystals. Maybe add one larger one to the center on the top too just toi fill in some added space.

ty sooo much for all your imput! im going to go to michaels,target,and walmart today and see what they have.

if the 4$ invites werent as thin as freakin looseleaf paper i would get those.. but the DIY paper is sooo much thicker. its annoyinggg
