i'd say cut off for a hall wedding is $170. however, you also have to factor in tax and gratuity.

I think you pay more because it is located in Bayville on the North Shore.... Some places charge a lot of money especially for july weddings. I only looked at places that started at under $100 per plate.

Re: honest re crescent beach club
My best friend (MOH) is getting married there next summer (next July, actually). I agree that the place is absolutely gorgeous but knowing what she has to pay for a Sunday afternoon wedding after getting a break because they knew someone... it's not something I would personally do. But, everyone has their priorities. Hers was the place and since that is the only place in Nassau that you can get married on the beach, you kind of have to take what you're given. It is gorgeous though and the renovations will be done by 7/10/05 so it will be even prettier.

Re: honest re crescent beach club
It all depends- My friends were married there last June on a Sunday night. - Cocktail hour was out on the deck and all of that - GREAT wedding !! the food is amazing. - everything was beautiful - I know they paid $$ but i don't know exactly - My cousin was married there this past March - again the food was excellent - but they paid a lot too - (over $110 pp) not including tax and everything else- and to be honest, you don't get the effect of the place on the beach w/ the view etc. - by the time you get there @ 7pm at that time of year, the beach is black - it's dark !! - So if you're going to spend the $$ for the summer months YES - if not, i'd look at other places as well

Re: honest re crescent beach club
I'm getting married there in October, and though the price was much higher than other places I had seen in LI, the prices were fairly comparable to what they are in Westchester, where I live. My FH and I loved the setting there and we felt that we were getting a decent amount of food, more and better quality than many other places offered. It's all a matter of your priority. If the place ways exceeds what you budgeted for, than you may want to keep looking or consider other ways to cut some corners. Good luck!

we went to a wedding there about 2 years ago. it was in nov and it was a sat. night. if no one told me it was on the beach i wouldn't have known. the inisde was beautiful though. but if you are going to pay on arm and a leg for the view i would recommend getting the hall as early as possible.
as far as prices go- we never entertained more than $90 a head before tax and gratuity.

It's really a matter of personal priorities because if you ask me -- all these catering halls are HUGE rip off when you really think about it!! I mean, seriously, they expect me to believe that it costs them $25 - $50 MORE per person to throw the SAME EXACT party on a monday night as opposed to a Saturday night? PUH-LEEEEZE. Yeah. I'm so sure that chicken cutlets are more expensive on Saturdays than they are on Mondays.
Anyway, all that aside, I love the Crescent and the fact that you get that whole beach to yourself (one wedding at a time) is really cool. To be honest, that was my #2 choice after Oheka. You have to decide what's most important. We seriously considered Oheka and realized we could do it if we severly cut our guestlist and changed to a off season and sold our firstborn child on the black market... it ended up that those were things we weren't willing to give up in exchange for the privilege of paying a $10,000 site fee and over a buck fifty per head.

You can only decide for yourself what is worth the price. If you love it, can afford it and live with paying that price, then go for it.

That is because of supply and demand.

The Crescent after being remodeled is now one of the most beautiful places to be. The food and service are wonderful and sunsets are breathtaking. TOP OF THE LINE

Re: honest re crescent beach club
thanks for all of the input, i am a little calmer now because it has almost been twenty four hours since taking a look at it. i don't think it is in our budget but i wish it was!! i think we are gonna think it over and see what we could work out, we are getting married next summer so hopefully the view is good, it's just that what they want us to pay on a sunday is what other catering halls want on a saturday, i don't know i just love the place cause it's different.
