FH has been a baseball player his whole life. I was a cheerleader for my whole life. Both were very important to us.
Would it be dumb...when the bridesmaids come out to have them holding a pom-pom and the groomsmen a baseball bat?
I like the idea, it means something, and its cute. But I'm afraid it will look dumb and tacky.
I need HONEST opinions. What would you think if you saw it at a wedding?
ETA: I dont know if this helps with the decision, but we want the 'feel' of our wedding to be fun and summery. We're not elegant people at all, and we're not looking to have the whole elegance, crystals, long gowns, etc. We just want everyone ot party it up and have a great time. So I was hoping this would add to the fun-ness without being tacky

agreed. but when it comes to weddings, i'm really into it being formal, elegant and traditional. so i may be biased. in fact i'm not even really into themes, unless they're very understated. so i may be the wrong person to answer this question.
Ok half of me agrees with this. The other half of me is imagining this along with your BP walking in to 'Centerfield' c(an't think of artist at the moment) and thinking FUN! lol im changing your BP entrance song all on my own!

I was actually in a wedding where we entered the reception the same way but with giants hats on the guys. Us girls got blue pom poms. At first I wasn't sure about it but everyone had fun with it and all of the guests loved how unique it was. I say do it! It's cute and people will have fun with it.

honestly, I'd probably be laughing and saying, 'wow, I'm gonna have fun at this wedding!!' If it reflects who you are and where you've been in your life, I say go for it!!!

We did mini baseball bats with Mets logos for the guys - we are HUGE Mets fans. It went over great, and I loved them!
DO ITTTT!!!!
ETA the picture of what it looked like - we wanted our entrance to be upbeat and fun, not stuffy at all. We used 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' by The Darkness, wore funny sunglasses (our thing) and had those mini bats:

eeek - I'm not sure I like it. Alot of guests might have no idea why you are doing that and it won't have the effect you are desiring - just being honest

If it's something you want to do and incorporate into your wedding, I say go for it. Don't worry about what other people might think. You want to look back at your day and have no regrets.
