Honeyfund

Honeyfund

Has anyone had any experience with using this registry or something similar? FH and I already live together and have pretty much everything that would be on a traditional registry. Plus, I feel like if I needed new towels, I would just go buy them... Not wait 12 months til my shower! I'm not sure if a honeymoon fund would turn people off. I've never been to a shower where that was the option as a gift. What do you guys think?? Thanks!

I actually love the idea! I am also in a similar situation..My Fiancee and I purchased our first home in December so we had a house warming early this year and I received everything you would normally receive at a bridal shower.... But I would def consider this idea!

I was also thinking of saying Gift cards only... ahhhh! lol

I did Sandals Honeymoon Registry which is similar. Many people purchased from it but I also did a small Target one so the people who like to go into a store had an option too.

i used Honeyfund for my registry and I got alot of gifts from there. Some people just looked on their and then just wrote us a check or gave us cash for it.

A family member did a Honeyfund and people in the family (9 sets of aunts/uncles) were PISSED because you're not actually buying the excursion they registered for. They just get a check for the $$ and could technically just put it in the bank and my family didn't like that. I registered through Sandals, and every gift purchased towards the registry automatically goes to your Sandals account, so the people who buy the gift know exactly where it is going to. I would look into other honeymoon registries

i went to a shower that had honeyfund and was confused by it!
however, we were going to do it anyway. but then we booked with liberty travel and they had their own honeymoon fund. This was better because you actually pay liberty and get something like a gift card or something to give the recipient. we havent had our shower yet, so i dont know how it will work out!

We are doing the liberty travel one too but Im still confused by it. Guests can purchase liberty travel gift cards to give but how do you use those to pay for your excursions? I cant imagine Norwegian taking Liberty Travel gift cards as payment.

from what i understand it doesnt actually go towards your excursions, but if your shower is before your payoff date it goes towards your payoff. if it is after... i think they give you the money back or a credit? but for sure it makes guests FEEL more like they are paying for excursions than honeyfund does!
