Honeymoon

Any recommendation of where to go? I am getting married in October and I am wondering which places may be in there hurricane season. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

We were married October 10th and went to Hawaii. It was hot, but wonderful! We planned on going to the Caribbean, but didn't want to take the chance during last hurricane season.

ETA: Rome was my first choice but DH wanted tropics.

We booked Vegas and Cali. Decided we didnt want to risk getting hit by a hurricane or traveling out of the country with all thats goin on in the world.

We're getting married in late october - We're going to Hawaii - it's actually not their high season, so it's a good time of year to go. It's dry not rainy, which is also great.

If you want to go to the Carribean try a more southern island like Aruba, which is somewhat out of the hurricane belt.

The eastern Caribbean is in the hurricane belt...so Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, USVI, BVI, the Bahamas, etc. Aruba is generally safe from hurricanes.

We're going to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It's still in the Caribbean Sea, but hurricanes typically by pass, plus we're going in May-June. Hurricane season is mid-June until late November.

I hear it's a nice time for Europe in the Fall because there aren't that many tourists.

I was concerned about booking my HM too because of hurricane season. Speaking to many people and being advised by a travel agent, we decided on a cruise to Bermuda. Apparently Bermuda isn't as affected by hurricanes as much as it's sister islands in the Caribbean and cruise ships can be re-directed in case of oncoming storms or rough waters.

we're going to Aruba for the same reason. it's supposedly the safest island from bad weather, and our wedding is in November. The water is supposed to be gorgeous, and there is so much activity and nightlife, casinos, etc. if you want it...watersportst and boat cruises too - but you can just chill by the gorgeous pools or beaches too:) there are lots of hotels to choose from too.

also about aruba - if yyou want a highrise hotel with all kinds of activity, then i've heard the hyatt, radisson or marriot are right on the water and have great facilities. The renaissance is in the middle of town but not on a beach (they have a private beach you have to take a boat to), and then something like Bucutu Beach with their Tara Suites is a low-rise option, not as crowded but beautiful rooms and beach, but alsot he pool is very blah and there's only one small restaurant, etc. You can walk or cab to the other activity if you want. It depends what you'r elooking for.
