Honeymoon?

Honeymoon?

Ok all you Fall 06' brides...

I'm getting married Sept 22, 2006 and I'm wondering about whether or not I should book the honeymoon now?

How many of you that are getting married around the same time have booked already?

Any suggestions?

Sandals vs. Beaches vs. Club Med?
I'm looking for something all inclusive.

THANKS!

Chelle

ADD NOTE: Is it better to book yourself or go through a travel agent? Can they get you better upgrades and discounts?

Re: Honeymoon?

We just booked a few weeks ago (about 9 months in advance). You can book your hotel now probably, but air doesn't come out till about 330 days in advance.

You should look into Aruba or hawaii since it is hurricane season in the caribbean in sept. And look on tripadvisor.com for reviews on hotels. It helped me a lot!!

ETA: We booked through a travel agent because it's a big trip, lots of interisland flights and transfers and its easier to have a TA set all that up.

Re: Honeymoon?

THANKS! I was wondering about hurricane season. People have been warning me. The only thing is, I used to live in Hawaii, so that wouldn't be 'new' and both of us went to Aruba last year on a cruise. Grrr... I am looking for soemthing 'new'.

I know Sandals have a 'hurricane Policy' or something.

We also might not take the honeymoon right after the wedding. So... there's just too many things to consider!! AHHHHH!!!

My date is october 8 and we booked ours last, its alittle early to book it but its out of the way now. We went to travel agent i just find that the easiest way yo do it,most agents look for the best rates.I always use liberty travel. My agent told us only aruba you are safe from the storms. Best of Luck

Re: Honeymoon?

although a im a summer 06 bride, i can tell you to book now. i booked sandals, with a sandals representative. i like talking to people, and if promotions occur, she gave us the better price. i would do sandals also for the fact, that it couples only, and i know i want my hm to be that way. if you want to fm for her info please do so, she is great.

Debra...

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I am really looking into Sandals for their all inclusive rates. I would most definitely love to get info from the woman you used to book your honeymoon.

Do you think I would get better rates, etc. booking through her rather than a travel agent?

What Sandals are you going to, if I might ask? I'm thinking St. Lucia now or Antigua. I really wanted Turks and Caicos, but they only have Beaches there and I'm not into spending my honeymoon with a bunch of families... LOL, no offense!! I just want a place where I can relax alone with my FH but then also hit a cool bar and do some adventures.

BTW - My birthday is Sept 23rd!! it's wedding/birthday weekend for me!

Re: Honeymoon?

we booked our honeymoon on Friday. We're taking a cruise. if a hurricane hits where we are supposed to be going, the cruise line takes an alternate route. so I'm not worried. we're buying a house so for us it was the most all inclusive and cost effective way to go. I booked a 7 night cruise thru direct line cruises, it was only $1780 for both of us in a balcony suite.

I looked into Sandals and I thought it was a little expensive. We've been to Secrets (all inclusive couples only) and it was a lot cheaper than Sandals & still beautiful. check them out, I know there is one in Cozumel Mexico and of course the one we went to in Punta Cana DR. that was also 7 nights and with air it cost us 3K. we went in June 04.

I would book thru a travel agent, and get travel insurance just in case. hope this helps!
