honeymoon

I still have 9 months to figure out what to do, but here are some questions... 1. How far ahead should you book? 2. We were thinking about going to Spain to visit family that couldn't make it, will that be a honeymoon? 3. We will probably have a mini-honeymoon first in the Hamptons or upstate...any suggestions? 4. Is everyone going first class? I know this is a lot of questions, but I appreciate any imput..

honeymoon

We booked a few weeks ago for our June 2002 wedding, but that's only because we decided to use my parent's timeshare. My opinion is that: 1. I think you have time - I'd book atleast 4 months in advance though, but my friend booked a few weeks before and got a great deal. If you are flexible, then wait, they always have deals. I just don't know where travel is going in light of the tragedy. Airfare schedules have been cut too. We haven't purchased airfare yet for our honeymoon. We waiting to see what happens. 2. I don't think visiting family is really a good idea for your honeymoon - unless you travel close to Spain and the last few days, you guys visit your family. I know I would want alone time with my new hubby. 3. I'd go to Montauk or somewhere where there is not the summer party scene. 4. Finally, we'd love to go first class but we are not. Airfare for June, as of right now, is so expensive. It has to do with the popularity of the month and oil costs haven't gone down, so I'm told. Will that change - probably! So, we haven't bought tickets yet. We will look at both fares, but I can pretty much tell you that we won't be, unless the difference is small. I guess I'd rather have the extra money to spend on our honeymoon. But also, it's only because we are flying to Puerto Vallarta. If you are flying for many hours, it definitely may be worth. I hope my rambling helped - Good Luck.
