Honeymoon

Hi ladies

FH and I want to book our honeymoon but we don't know if we shoud do it by ourselves or with a travel agent.

We want to go to Hawaii or Riviera Maya for 10 days.Where should we begin? What site? What travel agent should we call? Please help

I keep hearing about Travel Tom. (I think that's who it is.) Also check out Top Shelf Travel. One of my co-workers uses them.

i would go with a travel agent. my boyfriend and i wanted to go to disney, and we wouldve wound up spending a lot more money if we had done it on our own. travel agents know how to tie up loose ends and can sometimes get deals and stuff.

I always booked my own vacations before but for the HM I used a TA - I found her on here, Dawn from CruiseOne. I am actually in Riviera Maya right now, we are leaving today.

I found that there is a sense of security when booking through a TA, we purchased insurance too, just in case, god forbid, with everything going on with airline cancellations, etc. All the paperwork is mailed to you in advance and the whole process has been smooth sailing!

I thought it would be cheaper doing it myself using travelocity or whatever, but when my friend booked her honeymoon to Hawaii she said their travel agent saved them thousands!

Plus I guess a travel agent is helpful if you're trying to decide between different places.

I used Dawn from Cruise One too and booked this past weekend. She is fantastic!!!!

I am not sure about how long you need to book in advance, but I know I'm psyched I got an ocean view stateroom right in the dead center of the boat (meaning top to bottom and back to front . .. .) which I'm sure books up faster, so it depends what you want and where you want to go.

Also, I only had to put like 15% down, but having the actual number helps with budgeting.
