Honeymoon

Honeymoon

Most importantly I want to see as much of Europe as I can for our honeymoon being that we probably won't have the opportunity to do it after we are married. I know it's expensive so does anyone know of a way to finance a trip? We won't have all of the money to pay in full until closer to the wedding date and we certainly can't wait to book until then.

Secondly, I looked into a few cruises of the Mediterranean. They look amazing. They stop at various different countries which is exactly what I'm looking for. I was speaking to one of my friends and she said that she went on one of those cruises and the crowd was well.... older. I mean I'm not looking for Spring Break partying but I would like to be around some people remotely in our age group. Any suggestions? Has anyone been on of these cruises?

I went on a Mediterranean cruise for our honeymoon and it as awesome. The crowd is a little older, however, we did meet many young people as well who were also on their honeymoon. Please do not make a decision not to go on that type of cruise based on the ages of people. If that is what you want to do for your honeymoon, go for it! IMO.

We're doing a Mediterranean cruise for our HM, and I can't wait! I think it's a great way to see lots of different places

The age group also depends on the cruise line. Carnival has a younger/party group. Royal Carib & NCL are more mature group (Working adults) IMO

What cruiseline did you take?

Re: Honeymoon

I actually just went on a Mediterranean Cruise this summer. My FH and I went on Holland for 12 nights and then stayed 2 nights in Rome. It was FANTASTIC - we both loved it and it was an affordable way to see a lot of the Mediterranean. THey only thing I will say about it was that there was an older crowd but we didnt mind...there were younger couples and a lot of the older people were really nice. However we were exhausted after every day...You are busy and tired from walking around...but I recommend it!

I think it depends a lot on what you're looking for. Cruises are a great and relatively less expensive way to see a lot of cities, but bear in mind that you will only be in each city for maybe 8-10 hrs, and that the cruise docks are often not right by the city, so by the time you account for deboarding and getting to the heart of the city, you're not left with a lot of time. So, it's a great way to get a cursory feeling for several cities, but if you have your heart set on doing a few different things more in-depth in each city, a cruise will probably leave you disappointed. Also, make sure you love the itinerary. My friends went on a Mediterranean cruise and in retrospect they weren't too thrilled with the cities that it went to. They later went on another one where they loved the cities, and had an awesome time!
