Thought I had it all figured out but now me and FH are confused on what we want to do. We are getting married in October of this year so that alone narrowed down the number of places to go because this is around most of the caribbean's rainy season. Well we decided on St. Martin/Maarten with short trips to both Anguilla and St. Barths. These islands seem to have a history of good weather even during rainy season with only quick showers and sun for the rest of the day. Anguilla has a semi arid (desert like) atmosphere so its mostly dry. The thing is that we never been to any of these places and are scared we won't enjoy our stay, not knowing much about where we are going. Has anyone ver visited any of these places and have any thoughts on them. Please let me know what u did and where you stayed. Thanks for your help!

Re: Honeymoon
Just an FYI... twice in the fall I have been to St. Martiins in a Tropical Depression. Not sure where you are getting your info but they are certainly in the middle of the hurricane paths.
St. Martins is beautiful on the french side, but the dutch side is a bit of a dump and watch your wallet. Still you need to visit it because its got the cutest town. But I would try to stay on the french side of the island.
St. Bartz is AMAZING. Its one of my favorite places on earth. Its also $$$$$$$$$$ Everything there is super expensive. My dad always says he hemorrhages money when he is there. In town are some fabulous restaurants and you can rent a mookie, its a little golf cart people drive around in. I have only been there once but my parents go often. We stayed at the Hotel Guanahani which is fabulous... private pools at your villas, a great beach, and I took wind surfing lessons in a protective cove. I was a freshmen in college then, but I always thought Eden Rock looked like a romantic place to stay.

We're having a hard time deciding too. We're going in January of next year and dont know what places(other than Hawaii) are warm. We were thinkg Cabo but when I checked the weather its like 75. I wanted a place a bit warmer than that. So I'm on the fence also about where to go. Other than grand cayman I've never been to the caribean. And we def DONT want Jamiaca. Any suggestions girls??

couldn't agree more... ive been twice and St. Martin (french side) is probably my favorite of the Caribbean islands I've visited so far!! great beaches, not as touristy as the dutch side (also, cruise side dock on dutch side so you have that traffic). Good luck.

our travel agent said to stay away from Bahamas since it wasn't that warm during Dec/Jan etc. its obviously warmer than here but if you are looking for hot, the further down in the caribbean the better (if you stay on the east coat).

Exactly which month did you go? I know they are in the Hurricane path I was talking of Anguilla. They say Anguilla is virtually dry even during the rainy season. And the other two are not as bad as other islands. I know that they all Have rainy season and hurricanes as I am from the caribbean myself. I got the info about the weather of all islands directly from Weather Underground a website that show the history of the weather for over a few years. My FMIL and my mother visit St. Martin often and say they like both sides. I definitely want to go to St. Barths regardless of cost. but If I di choose these destinations I will spend most of the time in St. Maarten/Martin. Which Hotel did you stay in there ?

The Bahamas has their Carnival around New Years so the weather should be decent there as well.

Thats odd since this is when they have their Carival every year... Junkanoo is always after christmas and Carnival costumes are next to nothing. But I guess it isn't super hot like in the 90's. However that is the time to go if u want a lot to do. Carnival is CRazzzzy!!!!!
