Honeymoon

Where are you ladies planning on going or considering going for your honeymoon? Me and FH are trying to make a list of potential places.

Last year me and FH went to Excellence Resort in Punta Cana, DR...it was such a fantastic place and we are trying to find some place that will top that or at least be comparable.

I know Hawaii is divided in several other islands...is Maui the most beautiful and typically for honeymooners?

from my understanding, yes.
when we talked to our agent, she was also suggesting a stay in honolulu, but we didn't want to settle in for a few days only to have to move everything again.
defeats the purpose of a relaxing trip.
she said maui has a lot going on, but there's ample travel to the other islands as well.
we're doing 13 days so we have time to bounce around and go do some adventuring about.
a million years ago, my parents stayed in waikiki and they loved it, but found there wasn't much to do on the smaller islands.
i don't know.
FH's parents worked with this agent before hand she she had been to hawaii quite a few times so we trusted her to put together an awesome trip for us while staying in one spot.
i don't think any of the islands are bad to be honest.
the main thing is knowing what you want to do while you're there and finding the best spot for that.
if you wanna surf, the big island might be better.
maui is a lot of hiking/4 wheeling/etc.
the other islands can be a bit more intimate from what i hear, a lot of b&b's, things like that

Doing a 2 week Caribbean cruise.

I've been to Hawaii though and I liked Kauai the best, then Maui.

If I'm not mistaken, Hawaii doesn't have any all-inclusive? How expensive is it to eat and drink?

We are most likely going to go to French Polynesian islands (Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahiti). We absolutely LOVE water activities and the beach. We've been to the Caribbean a bunch of times so we want to do something that will be more like a 'once in a lifetime' kind of trip.

We were thinking Aruba because it below the hurricane belt and my wedding is in August so that is always a factor.

I don't have a clue yet where to stay but I have only heard good things about Aruba!

we are doing a mini honeymoon after the wedding at the Excellence Playa Mujeres (cancun) and then doing the main honeymoon in the summer to Alaska (cruise and land tours!)
