Is anyone going on a cruise? If so i'm not sure if i should book it myself or go to TA. What do you girls suggest?

Re: Honeymoon
we booked it ourselves only because it was cheaper that way.
but if you could find the same prices, i would go through a TA ... they'll prob be able to get you free upgrades and whatnot since it'll be a HM.
also, TA will have the entire package (flight, hotels if necessary, and cruise) on one bill as opposed to doing it yourself.
PLUS (sorry, i keep thinking of things), if you book it yourself through expedia or whatnot, i'm pretty sure you have the pay the entire amount upfront.

Re: Honeymoon
We are! We're doing a cruise to the Mediterranean!
We booked through a TA but only because there was a deal running that if you booked it on an Amex card you get double the points. But in order to do that, we had to go through an Amex travel agent. It worked out well though....she got us a great deal and a great room.

Not doing a cruise for our honeymoon but we are going on one in July--- And we booked through Costcos travel-- prices are lower then expedia/orbitz etc!

Re: Honeymoon
not going on one for the HM but FH's family goes on one every year (we're actually going on one in May after FBIL's wedding). FMIL usually books through a TA because she tends to get better deals and she usually is booking the trip for a lot of people.

Re: Honeymoon
i've always booked my trips without a TA, b/c i like to be in control of everything.
sometimes, you can piece different portions of the trip together and it'll actually be cheaper than a TA.
but what i would do is call up some TA and get some quotes and shop around, maybe it'll work out and they find something great, otherwise, you'll still your own research to fall back on.

Re: Honeymoon
try ecruises.com - i usually book through there b/c you get free travel insurance.
might go through a TA for honeymoon cruise though b/c I want perks! unless it's more expensive, then i'll just do it on my own!
