so I have read in on-line somewhere that in late 2012 they will be adding those beautiful over the water bungalows at a major resort in St. Lucia ( not sure which one) But I am suuuuper excited Dh and I plan to do a 12 day honeymoom we would love to do 6 days in st. lucia and 6 days in another island perhaps antigua or any other amazin Island, if we get a one day stay in PR that would be awesome as well we love going to PR!!!
Have u ladies thought of what u want to do? how long u want to be away? islands vs europe?

Sounds awesome! Def can't go wrong with the Islands. I personally want an island honeymoon. My fiance and I discussed Europe but we both decided we want some fun in the sun! Beaches, pools, and fruity frozen drinks! lol. I'm thinking of a 8-10day honeymoon. Possibly Hawaii or looking into some other islands.. not sure which ones. My wedding will be in Oct so thats still considered hurricane season. I've traveled twice previously in Oct (once to Punta Cana, DR, another to PR) and both places I got a lot of rain or cloudy days :-/ I want to try and avoid that on our honeymoon.

It sucks that FH HATES the sun and doesn't want anything to do with beaches. Not that I'm complaining about Greece, bc I so excited for that, but it would be nice to go somewhere tropical!
ETA: my brother and his girlfriend go to Punta Cana like 5 times a year, so that is definitely gonna be in the back of my mind. Maybe you ladies can help me out with some strategies to bribe FH lol

My dream is Tahiti but FH is afraid to fly.... We are doing Antigua but that's the extent of his airtime Mom is coming with me to Greece trip. Lol

All those places sound grrrreat! Lol So many gorgeous islands.. its going to be hard to choose. Ive heard Turks and Caicos is gorgeous.
How soon after your weddings do u ladies plan to leave on your honeymoons?

turks and caicos i hear is amazing.. and it's not very developed yet. i love those huts over the water in french polynesia too!!! :::sigh:::: we are doing our honeymoon about 2 months later, over the next teacher break

I'm thinking we're gonna leave the Friday after. I'm sure we're gonna do a BBQ for Memorial Day the next day, and we want to give ourselves a few days to get organized after the wedding.

As of now FH and I will most likely also leave 2 days after the wedding. Take a day to relax then the next we're off!

Since were both teachers were hoping to have the same easter break so we can take our honeymoon then. I def want to do some type of island. I been to a bunch with my family but FH only been to the bahamas and mexico. Not sure yet, what were going to do. I went to turks when I was 13 and it was the best vacation ever.

Great choices! I will be going somewhere tropical for my honeymoon. I want to lay on a beach with a frozen drink in my hand. FH really wants to go to Hawaii. I'm torn between Hawaii and St. Lucia. We will probably end up choosing Hawaii.

FH's parents gave us two weeks of timeshares where we want to go basically. Were torn between St. Lucia and Hawaii also. FSIL is getting married this September and their going to Hawaii so I feel like maybe I shouldn't do exactly the same thing..but were such outdoorsy people that Hawaii would be so perfect! There is beautiful beaches and lots of rain forests and activities.. I just don't want to do everything the same..

Even if you went to the same island, your honeymoon wouldn't be exactly the same! Plus if you went to hawaii, your FSIL could give you feedback on the location and excursions. If you're worried about it still ask her if it would bother her if you went to the same honeymoon destination. Or may be you could get a different timeshare location I'm hawaii?
