Honeymoon??

Honeymoon??

So we were dead set on going to Hawaii for our honeymoon and budgeted accordingly, but our offer was just accepted on a house a little earlier than we thought so I don't think it will be possible to swing buying a home and a 8k-10k honeymoon!! Very sad about this, but very excited if we get to be homeowners

FH and I have traveled a lot to the Caribbean (Mexico, Jamaica, DR, Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Kitts). Can anyone recommend somewhere else that they've loved? Doesn't have to be all inclusive. We are willing to travel elsewhere if it's affordable and not 10k! TIA

THIS!

I was about to suggest St. Maarten as well. FH and I have also traveled everywhere in the Caribbean and it has been our favorite spot. We stayed at the Westin Dawn Beach last time and loved everything about it. It's the best location on the island to watch a sunrise, and its on the border between the French and the Dutch sides of the island so its easy to get to activities either way. French side was our favorite... the beaches, restaurants and shopping cannot be beat! Pricing was totally reasonable!

yay to accepted offers!!!

we loved st. thomas for vaca and you can get inclusive resorts (i'm not sure where)...we always stayed at bluebeards because of being timeshare owners. the good thing about st thomas is it's right across the water to st. john's, you can do other sorts of excursions to other islands, and every single beach you go to is different!

Congratulations on the house!

I know a lot of people are doing mini-moons now. Maybe if you do a mini-moon you can postpone Hawaii for a little bit and have your dream honeymoon a little later?

If you are up for something different I know a few people who raved about Yosemite National Park and Catalina Island in California. Not sure what they paid. I've heard there is an amazing Four Season's in Yosemite, but I imagine it may be pricey. Or a you could always do a Cruise that leaves from NY. I did with my FH a years ago, it was actaully really nice, but I don't know if it would give you that secluded honeymoon feel.

Re: Honeymoon??

Congratulations!!!!!!!

Doing something in the Caribbean would definitley be cheaper than Hawaii in flights alone.

We had an awesome time at Sandals La Toc on St. Lucia. If you're looking for more affordable, look at Jamaica (resorts and flights are cheaper).

You could also do a cruise. Cruises are really affordable and you could even do one out of NY to save on airfare.
