Did you want to go on your honeymoon right away? Maybe if you waited a few months, have your FH get his passport so you won't feel like you are pressured to pick only one spot. Unless st. Thomas is a place you wanted to go.
We plan on waiting a few months for money purposes, but I can totally understand you wanting to go on your honeymoon right away. I wish I could LOL

St Thomas is fun. Any if the US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico if you wanna keep it tropical. There's always parts of Cali and Florida that are fun and beautiful. Vegas? New Orleans?

Never stayed at a hotel in st Thomas bc it was always a port in a cruise. Check out trip advisor for hotel reviews though. I've always found that site to be the most helpful when it comes to searching hotels

You can get your passport,in one day at the passport place in the city. It's only for last minute people, you have to have your trip booked and you call a number and they tell you a date to come in and you get your passport that day. It's a long day of waiting but you get what you need. I had to do it many years ago.
Here's the link http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/information/where-to-apply/agencies/new-york.html

The marriott in St.Thomas is really nice, they renovated it a few years ago.

I second the Florida idea! No need to stress about getting a passport in time. Maybe pick a place in FL neither of you have been if either of you have been there before. Unless that's a place you frequent then maybe another US place that's warm.

Why don't you ask FH where his favorite vacation was, and then repeat that trip? It would be nice for him to reminisce, and you'd get to experience it with him.

I stayed there right before they renovated and thought it was nice. I believe they have an all inclusive option which my friend and I didnt do. We did have a bunch of great dinners out though - and it gave us a chance to explore the island a little bit. We were happy there and the beach was beautiful. If you decide to go, make sure you go see Magen's Bay - it's one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world!

Florida Keys are beautiful. Another nice idea might be California, wine country. Napa Valley has beautiful resorts.
