Honeymoon Advice

I need your advice!!!!!!!!

FH and I are planning to go to the Bahamas, but we don't have the ability to take this trip until after the New Year ('07). For those who have been there before or have traveled near-by, what would be the better choice in your opinion? -

Mid-February

Mid-March

The price we got quoted is the same for both time periods - we're worried about the temperature and want to go swimming, etc.

TIA

Thank you!!!!!!! We're staying at the Sandals - all exclusive - only couples - I'm just worried about the weather!

I'd wait until mid-March just to be safe, the weather is perfect then, sometimes in Feb it's a little cooler.

I went to the Bahamas in March a couple of years ago and it was amazing.. The weather was very warm and you can catch an awesome tan!! Check out the Radisson Cable Beach.. I can't rave enough about that hotel.. and the room service and the restaurants were amazing!!

Re: Honeymoon Advice

I think the temperatures are pretty consistently nice in both February and March. I would definitely go in February instead of March because it's a big Spring break destination, and you'd be surrounded by drunk college kids in March.

I know because I went on Spring break to the Bahamas during the first week of March in 2000, and I felt so bad for the honeymooners on the beach. (I can only imagine how obnoxious they thought we were).

ETA: I noticed you said you were planning at staying at Sandals. When I went, we stayed at the Marriott (right next to Sandals) and there were definitely Spring-breakers staying at Sandals. I think it's adults only, not couples-only, so you might want to check into that...HTH!

Thanks for the info - my TA told me it's couples only at Sandals - but I'll confirm that.

Re: Honeymoon Advice

March -

The weather is cooler in Feb than March and with President's week, prices get jacked.

In March, however, be careful that you are not going during a college spring break time - Prices could be higher then too. (Though I doubt a spring breaker would go to the Bahamas...

I stayed at Breezes a few years ago -- FM me if you want my opinion on that resort.

GOOD LUCK!

When is college spring break typically? At my alma mater we got off in February and in April, never March.

Most colleges have their Spring breaks some time in March. I went to Boston College, and ours was always the first week of March (we got a four day weekend for Easter since it's a Catholic university, and they did this to break things up). A lot of other Catholic colleges have the same break. I know that most of my friends always had theirs in the last week or second to last week of March.

I'd wait until March...we went the end of Feb one year to Breezes Bahamas and it was very windy & kinda chilly for the water. Not humid.

Thanks - I think I'm finally convincing FH that March is the better month - too bad there aren't any holiday's, though, so we both have to take a full week of work off. Oh well - once in a lifetime trip!
