Honeymoon: almost a CHECK!! *OPINIONS NEEDED PLEASE!*

Original post by SeptBride70

OK so we are going to book our HM like ANY day now-- just need to make sure everything is in order. We really went all out on this one. We were going to hold back but we realized that after the wedding Vinny is going into hardcore Medical School mode and we won't be able to do ANYTHING for like four years.
So his parents were like, you guys need to really treat yourselves because you both are going to be working SO hard for the next few years (me working full time to support us and Vinny in school 24/7).

So now that you know the background a bit and why we are spending more than we probably should be- what do you guys think of this itinerary?? Does everything look in order here?

San Diego: 3 nights at The Town & Country Resort
Oahu (Honolulu): 3 nights at The Outrigger Reef on the beach
Kauai: 3 nights at The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa
The Big Island: 3 nights at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort
Maui: 6 nights at The Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa

*Each place includes a rental car except Oahu b/c it is not needed on that island. Each room is an ocean view w/ balcony and I upgraded us for the last one (The Hyatt) and we got the Club Service which means you get concierge and a 'butler' service which is really cool (plus daily extra ammenities).

I think that I included everything... the total number of days is 18... but like I said, we will probably not be going on another vacation for like EVER because life will take over (med school, then house, then kids, then death) lol but seriously!

What do you guys think? Worth it? Should we just go for our lungs b/c I mean-- it's our HM and we will never get to travel like this again??

Any info would be the best!

I think you should go for it! I've never been to Hawaii, but have been to San Diego. The hotel looks really nice - although I didn't actually see it while I was there. Ask them if they can look into hotels in La Jolla (just a little north of San Diego), Coronado (which is gorgeous), or maybe even Pacific Beach - but beware - it's not resortish there. It's a small surfer town. I think Town and Country is more inland as it's in Mission Valley - but still it looks gorgeous.

Thanks so much everyone!!

I just got home from working 8-3 and then going STRAIGHT to the second job from 4-7!! NOW I really am starting to realize WHY we need this HM! YIKES!

Well, I appreciate all the advice-- and the hotel recommendations for San Diego-- I looked into La Jolla or whatever that is and into the Hyatt and my TA is working on ammending that AS WE SPEAK!

Then when I book I'll update the itinerary to what we chose and start my countdown until we leave!!! B/c I'm SO excited I can't even explain it. FH is too cute-- he said he is just glad that I get to go on this because I have never really been on a 'vacation' in my life-- my parents and I never really vacationed, never went anywhere, nothing. The first passport I ever got was just this past May... So that was nice of him!

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!
