We are looking to take our honeymoon in Europe... but want to go with a 'tour' (will feel safer). We found one, Goahead vacations, which goes from London to France, to Italy. total of 14 days. Has anyone heard of them? or any good other 'tours' in Europe?

Re: Honeymoon- anyone going to Europe?
I have been on Contiki tours... I went with a girlfriend and had a BLAST -- Contiki is for 35-yr-olds and younger only.
The only thing I would say is that since it is your honeymoon, do you want to be boarding a bus all the time with like 40 other people? You definitely don't have to 'think' much on a tour -- everything is taken care of for you, etc. -- but you really don't get much privacy. You are also always planning your days based on the tour's schedule. You DO get to see a lot but it's not very relaxing. There was a honeymooning couple on the Contiki tour I took and we wondered how they felt spending their special trip with all of us!
Can I ask why you would 'feel safer' on a tour?

Re: Honeymoon- anyone going to Europe?
good points... with the goahead vacations, we were in each stop 3 days. One day had 'guided' tours, the other day and 1/2 (before traveling the last 1/2 day) was on your own. so i felt that we would get our 'privacy' and also get to see a lot, withouth having to plan it all out.
the 'safer' is because being in a foreign country, I would feel safer with a group of people, that if we didn't show up one day, they would notice... (I think i'm just over-analyizing this 'terror' alert thing... and worried traveling out of US... which would probally be safer! ha ha)

Ah OK, makes sense now! Even on Contiki we 'ditched' some of the organized things and went off on our own. We basically used the bus to get from city to city and that was it. Worked out great!
DO NOT worry about travelling out of the USA! We are leaving for Italy in September (on the 11th!) and I'm more worried about the flights being on time and getting our luggage, than terrorism!
I assume from your posts its your first time to any of these places... you are going to have the time of your life!! Italy especially is truly magical. Plan and enjoy!!!

Re: Honeymoon- anyone going to Europe?
Thanks for your advise! You are making me feel better! Have a WONDERFUL time in Italy! We are actually able to extend our stay in Italy for 3 days because it's the last stop on the tour, and we have family there that we can hopefully meet up with! so i'm pretty excited! So hopefully it will all work out!
Thanks again and best of luck in Sept! when you get back tell us all about it!
