My fh and I were talking yesterday and he was telling me he doesn't object to having a baby right away. Granted I really want to have a baby to and want to be a parent by 30. I am 27 now fh is 26. I am just not sure if I want to have a baby right away what do you girls think? Thanks for all of your support. I cant wait to have . Just not twins lol

Re: Honeymoon babies
This is so subjective.
I'm 32 and FH is 31. We've been dating for 3 years and living together for 2 years. We've had our time as just 'us' already. We want kids right away. We don't want to be old and crickety when they're like 10 and 12 years old!

we did not want a HM baby
babies aren't all about cute clothes and adorable toys. they need $$$ to buy them things, feed and clothe them. they need a secure roof over their head (whether that roof is bought or rented). they need 2 parents in a secure relationship who have established themselves as a couple.
just make sure you are both on the same page. babies grow into toddlers, then kids then teenagers. make sure you're ready for that...if you're unsure, then you're not.

Re: Honeymoon babies
Thank you all for your support. I really do want to have a baby pretty much right away. My only reservation is that I dont want to be living where he is living now. You see I am very as you guys call religious. We are waiting till marriage before sex, but I dont object to having a family right away. I know God will bless us.

Re: Honeymoon babies
We originally said we wanted a honeymoon baby but then said we will wait till about 6 months into the marriage until we start trying. I want to spend some husband/wife time before we have a kid. We'll be together 7 1/2 years when we get married and living in a house we bought together for a little less than 2 years. But if an 'oops' happens we won't mind hehe

Re: Honeymoon babies
we are not going to be having a honeymoon baby. We have a few years to still play around with. We want to do certain things before we decide to expand our family beyond us and our cat! Not that we wouldnt be happy at any time, but we're trying to achieve certain things first.

Re: Honeymoon babies
We already have his son, 7, in our lives (living w/bm) so we really dont want a huge gap between babies - but such is life.
we've been living together for more than 4 yrs already so we are as adjusted as I think we can get. marriage is like ok baby insurance b/c now we wont have to worry about what the family will say if i get pregnant...however my fi thinks he has super sperm and i'm not so sure about my cystic ovaries...so who knows. i would like to have my first before 30 and i'll be 27 when we get married in 53 days!!!

Re: Honeymoon babies
i think the idea of a honeymoon baby is kinda nice (in the right situation) and quite honestly, fh and i have been living together for 2 years now (more by the wedding) so we'll have had our alone time and stuff.
on the other hand (and this is the hand that counts for us), a honeymoon baby will be WAAAYYY to soon. from the looks of it, i'm gonna be 24 and he'll be 25 by our wedding and i'll most likely still be finishing grad school and possibly working along with it. i dunno if i could handle a baby on top of that! plus i'd like to get tenured first and we'll probably still be living with my parents too, trying to pay off my student loans and saving for a house. a baby would be a little too much around then. heh. =0P
then again, from the looks of it we're not gonna be able to afford a honeymoon right away, so a honeymoon baby might be ok, considering our honeymoon will probably be like three years after our wedding! hah! hah!

TOTALLY AGREE with this!! i think too many people get caught up in the idea of a cute little baby with all the cute little baby ':stuff', and don't fully realize that that baby is going to grow up into a child, a person that needs guidance and instruction and discipline and all that. its a HUGE commitment, and i think it takes a strong foundation as a couple before you can do that.

Re: Honeymoon babies
Just make sure it is well thought out between the two of you. Once you have a child you lose your independence. Personally, I think it is nice to be able to enjoy your first several years of marriage before having the added pressure of children. The first year is stressful enough and then imagine putting children into the mix. There is nothing wrong with it but just make sure you are fully prepared.

Re: Honeymoon babies
FH & I talked about this last night at dinner, I think b/c I read this post. We're going to wait several years so that we can experience and travel, as a couple, before we're a family,

I would have been upset had i gotten PG on my H!! I want to enjoy traveling and going out etc w/ my DH w.o having a baby to worry about. Everyone says 'life is not the same' after you have a baby, and i believe them and i dont want that kind of life change right now.
Im 32 and i still dont know when i want kids....im sure when im ready i wil know
I agree with you totally! DH and I talked about it on our honeymoon and we're on the same page. I'm 31 and he's 32.

I think we are going to try to hang on to our freedom a little longer....there are so many things I would like to accomplish and try before we have a child. We are both looking forward to one day becoming parents, just not right away

We were going to wait a year, and then ooops - 3 weeks later...
If its meant to be its meant to be - I'm a firm believer of that....

Re: Honeymoon babies
Whenever we are blessed with a child will be a very happy day! But on the same note, we would like to wait about 3 years before we have a baby. I want to enjoy the married life without children at first.
