So originally FH and I were booked to go Puerta Vallarta, but now that I've tried to book the airfare it has DOUBLED for the dates we are going. So obviously we think it is rediculous to pay that much just for airfare so now we're looking into cruises out of NY (after we go to Disney we are going to probably fly back then take a cruise out of NY), can anyone recommend good cruises/places to go in AUGUST, that are OUT OF HURRICANE PATHS? Please let me know. Thanks sooooooooooo much!

Re: Honeymoon Crisis!
dont be afraid to take a cruise during hurricane season.... they do their best to avoid it at all costs by going to different ports.... so as long as you are okay with that, i would go wherever you like

Re: Honeymoon Crisis!
That's kind of hard if you will be leaving from new york because a hurricane would affect the Atlantic Ocean area I would say if you are going to do a cruise in August to go with something on the Pacific Coast, you can do a cruise to cabo or something like that. If you are going to leave directly from Disney it might be cheaper to fly to an island, you guys should try Cabo I went last August and had beautiful weather. There is also the Riviera Maya, the flight from Disney would be really short and the hotels there are amazing. You can also do Aruba which is super safe because it's not in the hurricane zone!

But wouldn't it be better to go out of NY then out of FL where the Hurricane's usually hit hardest? I should have gotten married in December..this would have been easier! Stupid hurricanes

Maybe you can go from New York to Bermuda. That's more north so you might be ok with that.

there was a NCL cruise that left out of NYC that just came back that got caught in hanna and had to be detoured all over the place... there was like a riot on the ship.... i dont think they got to go to any of the ports that they were suppossed to go to... so thats really the worst thing that can go wrong during huricane season

i got a superior oceanview room... basically its just a bbigger room with a window...
the balcony for my sailing was an extra $300 per person... totally not worth it for that kind of cruise...
someone suggested to me that having a balcony during hurricane season may turn out to be useless given you get caught in one... which makes plenty of sense .... im only stayed in inside cabins so this is a step up for us LOL
