Honeymoon Cruise

Do you think it is worth the extra money to get a suite for your honeymoon? We are considering it, it is about $1400 more.

Please help I need input on what everyone thinks about this! Thanks

We're getting a balcony room, but not a suite. I've stayed in one and they're nice, plus you're not really hanging in the room that much, and when you are you're probably on the bed

Are suites the only rooms with the balconies? I do recommend getting a room with a balcony, we had one on the last cruise we went on and we enjoyed it

nah, you'll hardly be in the room anyway. Use the extra money to buy yourself something nice in the islands or for the excursions

Re: Honeymoon Cruise

Well...our first cruise...we were in a room with a large window. It was perfect. The second cruise we checked out the balcony...perfect...now better than the big window room. third cruise...we checked out the Jr. Suite...now we liked this one better than the balcony room. For the HM...we're going with a suite... (I'll let you know how it is)

Now...that being said...You will have a GREAT time no matter where you stay on the ship. I do recommend a balcony...but suite...no suite...you might as well save, right? Or splurge...it's your HM...

OR.....book the balcony and as it gets closer...maybe you can call the cruiseline and see if they will give you an 'upsell' (better room, cheaper price)...hmmmm

I'm not really much help, am I?

Sorry...Its late and I'm on call this week...you will probably see a ton of random posts...my phone rings all hours of the night...ugh....

Re: Honeymoon Cruise

This is what happened with us. When we originally booked for our honeymoon cruise we went with a regular room with a verandah. I really wanted to book the one bedroom suite but didn't think we would have enough money. Then I was like you know what it is our honeymoon I don't care how much extra it costs and so I upgraded to the one bedroom suite and did cost more money but I think it is worth it.

Re: Honeymoon Cruise

DH and I have stayed in everything from an interior room with no window (never again!) to a Jr. Suite.
For our HM, we went on 2 back to back cruises. The first half of the HM we were in a Jr. Suite, the second half, we were in a regular balcony room. (we got a really great deal on the first cruise on the Jr. Suite so we upgraded...no such deal on the second cruise) For us, I really really wish we had spent the extra money to have the Jr. Suite for the entire honeymoon cause you think you're not gonna spend any time in the room, but the truth of the matter is...you are. The bathroom is huge instead of being the size of a closet. There's actually room to walk around instead of having to squeeze by the person you're staying with. The balconys are bigger. It's your HM, you should have the best and be comfortable. I say if you have the extra money and youre not breaking the bank...spring for it. I promise you you won't regret it!

Re: Honeymoon Cruise

Also, I wanted to add that we had origionally booked just a regular balcony room for the HM, and we kept checking back almost every day until they ran a special on the suites for our cruise. We ended up getting the suite for only $200 more a person rather than the normal $600 or so more a person. So thats always another option....book a regular balcony room and keep looking out for specials because as the cruise gets closer, and there are still suites available, they're gonna be trying to get rid of these rooms for a much more reasonable price.
