Honeymoon Decisions

Honeymoon Decisions

So we were originally going to go to Greece but it's WAY too expensive to hop from isle to isle and stay in the type of hotels we want to stay in, and there are no good greek isle cruises that leave within the week after our wedding.
So, we've decided to postpone the cruise of the greek isles until our 1 year anniversary and instead do something less expensive. We've narrowed it down to the Occidental Grand in Aruba or Sandals in Antigua. Help us choose!!

i've only been to the occidental in aruba so that's the only one i can comment on -- it's a really nice hotel with beautiful rooms and the only thing i didn't like about aruba was that it seemed like a desert with some hotels and casinos. it was a great vacation tho and it's right near the other resorts so you can definitely go visit the others too!

Thanks! I'm hesitant to go to Antigua b/c we're getting married during hurricane season and Aruba is outside of the hurricane belt, but unfortunately Aruba doesn't have a Sandals and those are really the ideal honeymoon spot. I'm hoping the Occidental is as nice as it seems on the website!

i just looked at the website and honestly, everything looks like it does in the pictures. i can't speak for the jacuzzi pics and the pics of the master suites and stuff like that, but that's what the normal room looked like.

the only other thing i was a little disappointed with was the water-- it wasn't as clear as i expected and it was cold! but we went in april so i'm sure it will be warmer for you!

i dont really have any advice for the hotels you listed...but i just wanted to ask if you looked into contiki tours for greece? they have tours for greek island hopping...and the best part about contiki is that its only open to people 18 - 35. so overall it should b a fun group
