We narrowed it down to mexico or Aruba but here is our dilemma:
The resort we LOVE is excellence resort in cancun riviera- has amazing service and food and beautiful rooms but the bad part is the beach doesn't look that nice from the pictures.
Second option is Occidental in Aruba which the beaches are GORGEOUS which is what I want but I have read mixed reviews about the food and it doesn't have the same quality of service.
AHHHHHHH this is driving me crazy. I wish I could move the Excellence Resort to Aruba!
Which would you choose?
I am open to any other suggestions. We do want to do an all inclusive though to save money!
Also if you have been to either of these plase tell me your experience!

Both places are beautiful. I have been to Cancun but never stayed at those resorts. I was happy with the beaches in Cancun, but moreover the hotels all have gorgeous pools with views of the beach too. Just be careful with Cancun during 'Spring Break' because there are a lot of younger people that can be very loud. I stayed at the Oasis Playa hotel a few years ago and the food was not great, it was decent but it was all inclusive - drinks and all. The Oasis hotel chain are mostly all inclusive and the prices were fair when I went there.
I don;t know that much about the hotels in Aruba, I do know that my sister went there this past summer and it was gorgeous. She stayed in a timeshare & it was not all inclusive so she ate in restuarants that she said were very good, but she had a great time.
I hope this helps a little, good luck!

Sorry. . . I would chose the Aruba - that's because I feel like Cancun is more geared towards the 'single' 'party-goers' and I don't want that atmosphere for my honeymoon. And Aruba has a killer sunset.

I would go with Aruba! I heard they have a great dry climate! My friend went to the Occidental and loved it! She recommended it to me but you are right about those food reviews...they turned me off but my friend had no complaints. I decided that all all-inclusive resorts have some negative reviews on food! We are going to Sandals Grande in St. Lucia and I read several bad reviews about the food, but we are going to keep an open mind!
Also...we researched ALOT of islands. One of them being Jamaica - the Couples Swept Away Resort which came highly recommended from 2 friends! I decided not to go there because it seemed too 'spring-breaky' for me. I should not care what others say but I know everyone would be saying....'oh thats where spring breakers go!' HAHA....my g-ma even said it!

We choose Excellence riviera Maya! We are going around spring break time but i am not worried because this resort is not in cancun hotel zone but in another area. Plus this resort is 18 and over and geared mostly for couples! check tripadvisor.com for help!
good luck!

never went to secrets in cancun, but went to the one in DR. Beautiful, but was also at the Hyatt in aruba last March. Amazing. Guaranteed perfect weather, beautiful beaches, some gambling if you like too. Differences: if you want all-inclusive which it seems like you do, didnt hear 'great' things about the food at Occidental, but then again everyone has an opinion and has different taste. Only thing about DR Secrets is that you couldn't leave the resort, not safe and nothing to do. How is the location of the one in Cancun?

It is inbetween Cancun and Riviera Maya but he said it's not advisable to leave with a car.

If you are staying at an all inclusive resort I would stay stick to one with good reviews since you'll be spending alot of time there and will be eating all their food. HTH

Hate to complicate things but have you considered going to DR? My friend went this past April and stayed at a gorgeous all inclusive that she said would be perfect for a honeymoon. Just a thought!
