Honeymoon distress

Honeymoon distress

We had our heart set on going to the Villa Caletas in Costa Rica for our HM but the suites are totally booked and I am not settling for a 'standard deluxe' room. I want something more special that I would NEVER even consider bringing my kids too.

I put the link to the suites above. If you know of any other hotels that have something similar to that, can you please let me know. It doesn't have to be Costa Rica. I'm looking for something unique and romantic (and not to be uber picky but since I'm throwing this out there...preferably with an infinity pool someplace and an ocean view ). We do not want a resort, all-inclusive type of place or a chain type of hotel (i.e. Four Seasons, Marriotts) but we do want 4 or 5 star hotel. Our major limitation is time...we only have a week to go so anything requiring major travel time is out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Honeymoon distress

We just booked Couples Swept Away in Jamaica. It is all inclusive. We worked with Tom Varghese from American Express ([email protected] he was so helpful. I could not have pulled this off on my own. Send him an email. He is full of great ideas.
Good Luck!

Edited because I put the wrong email address

I heard that the couple sweets in Sans Socui are beautiful - maybe you want to look into that. My personal favortie is the suites in the Atlantis - I had been in one when my FSIL got married - They are AMAZING - the whole resort is

A bit further is Nannai in Pernambuco, Brazil. Take a look at their master suites! I don't know if this is what you are really looking for but I've been looking into it and if I could afford it, would love to go.

Couples is a chain resort...and Atlantis is very 'family-oriented' which is fine- but it is beautiful. However, you mentioned that you don't want to go someplace you would take your children to.

Check out:

Grand Velas Gourmet All Inclusive All Suites Resort- Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

I know you also said you don't like all inclusives- but this isn't the 'buffet' type. There are I think 4 gourmet restaurants to choose from.

My parents travel ALOT and always stay at really nice places- but they have said this is their favorite.

Check it out, and good luck!

We stayed at the Sarojin in Khao Lak, Thailand. Seriously one of the most gorgeous hotels I've ever seen. Really small, and romatic. It's a long flight though (17hours) but worth checking out. We stayed at one of the pool suites and it was amazing!!

I have stayed at the Grand Velas, and it was the best vacation I have ever been on. The spa is great, and everyone there was so nice and helpful. The standard room is HUGE and all rooms have a view!!
