As most of you know, I'm going to Tahiti on my honeymoon. I was just checking expedia. com for flights and they have my flight on there for 1,184.00 per person. My Travel Agent booked my flight at 1,413.00 per person, showing a total difference of almost 500 dollars. Now, I can cancel the Travel agent flight and book with expedia, but do you ladies think it is safe and wise to do that? I mean, I've used expedia for florida and other places like that, but never to another country.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Honeymoon Flight
I would check to see if you get a refund or not. Some flights you will get hit with a penalty for canceling. Some airlines will refund the difference if the price drops. I would check with your travel agent.

Re: Honeymoon Flight
I've used Expedia and it has been fine, but I was just wondering whether you can really cancel the flights with the travel agent. Normally if it has been ticketed it's non-refundable.

Re: Honeymoon Flight
Expedia is a great site and very reliable! We usually make all our travel arrangements through their site.

did you tell you TA about it? See what they have to say, maybe they can get you that rate

Re: Honeymoon Flight
i used expedia for my trip to cancun, mx--everything went fine!
btw - whatever airline expedia is using for that rate, you might actually be able to get the rate a few bucks cheaper if you go to that particular airline's website using the info from expedia.

Re: Honeymoon Flight
Your agent should be able to re-book your flights at the cheaper rate

Re: Honeymoon Flight
The travel agent will not give me the lower rate.
If there is no penalty on the honeymoon, i'm going to book with expedia.
thanks ladies, I appreciate it!

Perhaps your travel agent can match the Expedia price.

The TA may not, but the airline may. Try them directly. Good luck!!

Re: Honeymoon Flight
OK, TA called me back, and it won't affect my package, so i just booked the flight on expedia.
i just saved 500 dollars on my honeymoon! YEAY!!!!!!!!
I just hope we get a seat next to each other. That is the only bad thing, we dont find out our seating until we board. Or like a week before!
