Honeymoon Help

Honeymoon Help

Ok ladies need your help on this one. I absolutely HATE to fly. I was going to suck it up and go to Atlantis for our honeymoon being it is only a 2 1/2-3 hour flight. The problem is that it's september and the weather is not so good, I don't want to risk it being hurricane season, especially since they are saying this year is going to be a bad one. Anywhere in the carribean is out. Mexico is to long of a flight for me, so obviously vegas, california and hawaii are out also.
Any ideas of where we can go that's nice in September. I don't want to do a cruise, we have done three already. I really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Ceasars in PA is a big honeymoon spot. Niagara Falls is another one.

I probably hate flying more than you and we are going to Tahiti! It is a 13 hour flight plus small interisland flights. I say suck it up, take a tylenol PM and go somewhere you really want to go!

How else are you going to see the world????

Oh and what about Aruba? I don't think it's that long of a flight and it's out of the hurricane belt for the most part.

Mexico is too long of a flight? It's 3 hours only! Seriously, I hate flying also and found my flight really fast (and on-time). Having a bottle of champagne on the plane didn't hurt either (I totally played the newlywed card! ). Consider Mexico...consider Royal Hideaway LOL

Really only 3 hours. I don't know why I thought it was longer. I will definitely check it out. Thanks

By the way....a little Valium or Xanax go a long way on a long flight. Drug yourself if you have to!

No problem! I thought it was 4 hours too, but I'm a dork, it seems like 4 hours when you look at the flight times because there's an hour time difference...LOL. Actual flight time is 3 hours.
Another place that is close and doesn't really get affected by hurricanes is Turks & Caicos.

I give myself credit, believe my i'm a terrified flyer! But tylenol PM goes a long way! And i know it will be worth it! Good luck in your honeymoon search. Wherever you go will be amazing.

Re: Honeymoon Help

Are you only looking for a beach? If not Charleston is such a pretty/ romantic town. You could even stay on Kiawah Island (my parents used to have a house there- it's beautiful) for the beach and take day trips into Charleston.

I haven't been, but FH says Savannah is really nice also.

There are also places you could go north- Kennebunkport, Maine has some of the most amazing bed & breakfasts, beaches in Maine are nice, and lobster doesn't hurt

If you want to stay close (a very short 3 hour trip- can even take the ferry), Newport is really nice- again stay at the bed & breakfasts. It's a great little town to hang out/ relax in, you can go sailing (really fun sunset sailing), and great little restaurants. They have a famous jazz festival there every year that's a lot of fun- might be Sept. or Oct., but you should check.

Vermont in the summer is really beautiful also- we stayed in Stowe at a bed and breakfast- lots of summer activities, etc.

I could go on, but I'm not sure what you're really looking to do/ what type of atmosphere you want.
