Honeymoon Help

Honeymoon Help

Ok ladies here is the deal.

FH wants to go to Disney for our Honeymoon, IMO I don't think that Disney is a 'honeymoon' kind of place because you are running from park to park the whole time. We made a deal that if we were going to go to Disney we would stay in any hotel I wanted. I chose Grand Floridian.

FMIL and FFIL were very generous and offered to give us their vacation points to book the hotel, I found out today that the hotel has no rooms available for the time that we are going. Now, I don't want to go to Disney because the compromise that we agreed to is out the window. FH is fuming because I told him that I prefer not to go to Disney now.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a honeymoon on the east coast that isn't 'beach' related?

My problem is that I don't think I have an option any longer as to where I'll stay if we go to Florida. When I spoke with FH this afternoon, I was told that his parents are looking for a hotel for us.

yeah if you want info let me know bc i went there before...its great bc in marthas vineyard you can rent a real nice house for a great price for a week or however long you want. They do have a beach there but of course you dont have to go...there are other activities to do there. Places do close early though...not sure exactly of the type of honeymoon you are looking for but depending on what you are looking for it might be good. Well what type of honeymoon do you want? that will help

well its definitely relaxing...there are activities but its also a laid back place so depends whether he likes the activities there and can keep busy

they have horse back riding, also he can fly in those small red planes, minature golf, depending on when you go they have whale watching, kayaking. So definitely have him look up info and see if this interests him. What about montreal?

I'd be afraid to go that far north in the winter. The snow and ice seemed to come early this year. When he gets home from work I'll have him check out Marthas Vineyard.

that is true, maybe check out what the weather is typically like in montreal during the month of november, from what i hear it is a great and romantic place...I liked marthas vineyard alot, and to look at houses to rent just look online theres so many of them...my suggestion is to look for a house in west tisbury. Oakbluffs the houses are right next to eachother and its like their downtown area where all the bars, restaurants are so its not as quiet...edgarton is very nice but most of the houses are on a main road and also close to one another...west tisbury is in the middle, and most of the houses are on acres of land and very isolated...we got a house on 10 acres of land so very quiet and private and it was $1200 for a week which was great since there were 8 of us

Martha's vineyard will be pretty cold in the winter as well....but if you do decide to go there, definitely check out Newport, Rhode Island as well. They have lots of huge mansions, and the cliffwalk is gorgeous.

I LOVE Bar Harbor, Maine. It's romantic w/ gorgeous hotels that have spas, small antique & gift shops and also a lot of action like kayaking, whale watching, and Arcadia National Park. I used to live there so FM me if you want more details. You can walk around the whole town and have a romantic Lobster dinner at night.
