Hi Ladies!! I need some help choosing my honeymoon. I have been back and forth with locations. It pretty much changes every single week! I have done so much research online checking out resorts and reviews on Trip Advisior, and I have also read A LOT about honeymoons on LIW. From what I've learned, Riviera Maya in Mexico seems to be the best bang for your buck! I've read some really great reviews! I am torn between 2 resorts and I was hoping you ladies could help me out. The two I am torn between are El Dorado Royale and Excellence Playa Mujeres. Has anyone been to either of these resorts? Would you recommend one over the other? I truly appreciate any helpful info. you can give!!!! Thanks so much!

I have not been but I just wanted to say good luck deciding, and I'm sure whichever you pick will be amazing. I feel like there was a thread on those the other day. Did you see it? If not I can try to bump it for you.

i think loveydovey went to el dorado though and she gave them a great review

That's awesome!! Were there any big deciding factors that made you want to go to Excellence? Aside from the rooftop room! That is soooo nice!!!
It turns out its not about Excellence Playa Mujeres but they do mention the other resort. Hope that helps a bit

we heard about excellence from our TA and really liked it. when i went home i did some research on other resorts in the area and saw el dorado...it was beautiful! but more expensive. we wanted to get a cool room, and could really only afford to do so at excellence.
i honestly don't think you can go wrong at either place. they both look amazing and have gotten stellar reviews. i do think that el dorado is known for their food though...i believe they have pretty gourmet meals.
hopefully loveydovey is on and will see this thread so she can correct me if i'm wrong and give you her personal opinion of el dorado

Thanks so much, futurestevens! I also posted this on the 'brides helping brides' board and Loveydovey gave El Dorado a fantastic recommendation. But you are right, I have heard great reviews on both. I would appreciate the gourmet meals, but FH is an incredibly picky eater (seriously, he will not even eat a sandwich) LOL So the simpler the better for him. I guess we'll talk it over and I'll let you ladies know what we decide :)
