Honeymoon - Help Us Decide

So here's the deal (try and following because this may be confusing LOL).

FH and I are going to Couples Resorts in Jamaica in Jan 2012 (they finally released the prices so now we can book it!). FH and I have been to Couples Swept Away and absolutely loved it! We were thinking that for the HM we might try a different resort, so we were looking into Couples Negril which is in the same area as Swept Away (both are in Negril about 20 mins away from each other).

Now here is the dilemma:

Do we go with the resort we know and love and are sure we will have a great time at?

or

Do we try this new resort (which I have no doubt with be just as fabulous)?

Here is the breakdown of the differences in the resorts as far as the rooms go (both are all-inclusive resorts and the inclusions are pretty much the same for each resort):

Swept Away Beachfront Suite has a regular bathtub/shower, a verandah with sofas and a table, and is located directly along the beach path.

Negril has a Jacuzzi bathtub, separate shower, Hor Doeuvres delievered to the room nightly, hammock on the balcony, and is located closest to the ocean.

The difference in price between the two is $475 (Couples being the cheaper option).

Another thing to keep in mind is that the pricing for the resort does not include the airfare which we will have to book separately. We are estimating that the flights are going to cost another $1200 on top of everything.

I really want to but I'm thinking the $475 we could save going to Swept Away can take care of a nice chunk of the airfare. FH said 'it's our HM - we're splurging' but I just don't know.

ETA: also, I'm hoping that the airfare isn't that much. I just looked on Jetblue and picked like the last week of this year that they had available (end of August) just to see what the pricing is. I hoping that in Jan it's less.

SPLURGE!!!!!!

It's only 475.

Plus it's the honeymoon. First trip you take as husband and wife. It should be a new experience.

true. I guess my only hesitation is we are going to Europe in the summer for his cousin's wedding and that's going to cost us a nice chunk of change (but that doesn't count as the HM). I'm hoping it doesn't cost us too too much and then I can justify spending extra on the HM.

yeah I heard amazing things about Negril! The decision has to be made in the next few weeks anyways because if we book now we save 56% on the room rate AND we get a $300 credit for the resort to use in the gift shop, on the professional pics and at the spa.

I would definitely splurge (if you can) and go to the new place! its your honeymoon, go somewhere you haven't been!!

yeah the more I'm thinking of it I say screw it and pay the extra $475. The new resort looks amazing - especially the rooms!

Well I will let you girls know who the winner is when we book!

I would splurge a little and choose the new one. I'm all about going to new places/hotels though. I would prefer going to a resort that I never went to before so that it is a new experience. Everyone is different though. If you know that you will love the resort you already visited and would prefer going there, then do that!! If it were me though I would choose the resort I never visited before.

well regardless of which resort we choose we are splurging for their HM package which includes:

- Fresh flowers in room upon arrival
- Chilled bottle of sparkling wine in room upon arrival
- Private candle-lit dinner with personal waiter-
- His & Hers half hour massage
- $100 gift certificate for choice of spa treatment
- $50 gift certificate towards the gift shop

its their sister resort so it should be just as good!

fh and i are doing something similar, we are going back to mexico to the sister resort of the resort we visited last sept
