Honeymoon- How much cash bring with?

I leave for my honeymoon on Friday and will be going on a cruise. How much actual cash should I bring with me? How much in travelers checks? I am not a cash type of gal, I like credit cards. I know on the ship i can set up an account but for the ports (san juan, st. thomas, st. marten, st. john and nassau) will i need cash or will credit cards do. I also know I am always pay a heft fee and use ATM on board.

TIA.

I wouldn't bring too much cash since you're taking a cruise. You can charge all of your drinks and stuff on the ship. I hate travelers check's...they are so annoying. I would bring maybe $500 in spending $$...for when you're off the boat...just charge everything when you're on the ship that you can!!
Oh, and can you take me with you?!?!?!
It's soooo cold today!!!!

I agree with pinkiegirl. You aren't going to need cash on the boat, except for tips at the end of the week or possibly in the casino (and you are able to use your roomcard to get cash to use in the casino).

You will only need cash to use off of the boat but you should be able to use credit cards too.

Not much. Everything on cruises are paid via a card called the 'Sail and Sign' card which you pay at the end with a credit card, so you really dont need cash for anything you purchase. The only thing you would want cash for is souvineers at the ports of call and if you want to gamble on the ship. I would suggest bringing no more that $300 in cash.

Yeah on the cruise you wont really use cash...They give you a card to use, which is directly billed to your CC...for drinks, food and even shopping you just put it on that card...Even when we got off for one of our excursions i used the card at the duty free shop...You might want to bring a little for the excursions like maybe a little shop or other shopping besides the duty free shop

I definitely don't suggest bring alot of cash, instead bring credit cards.
I remembered, however, the year before Igot married, I was majoring in Criminal Justice at the time and my cop-professor told mr not even to bring like a debit card nor a chekbook. [No one will accept travelers checks anyway].
I'd only bring about $300 in cash, AT THE MOST, just for tips at the end of the trip and shopping when you stop at an island.
Every drink/anything u will have to pay for, will be charged to your room, and billed on a credit card. They will probably need a credit card on file anyway. I would just bring that.

For our HM, I got scared cause DH brought about $2000 in cash, maybe $2500, not any more than that for extra activities. I told him not to because I would be bringing my credit card, but he didn't listen. Henceforth, nothing got stolen, but still, its just not a good idea to bring that much cash. Think of the maids cleaning the rm, ect ect.

Good luck & congrats!
Have a great time on ur HM!

Hey, you got married on my birthday! LOL!

DH and I went on a two week honeymoon to Disney and then a cruise and we brought about $600 in cash and came home with some of it. We spent some of it on little things, but found ourselves mainly using credit cards. You could literally not spend a dime on the cruise, except what you put on your sail and sign card.

Don't bring too much...maybe $400-500.

And by the way...have a wonderful time!
