did anyone book the HM and then airfare later when it opened up? is it better to book together?

If you want all inclusive I hear Jamaica or St. Lucia are nice. I did not go with an all-inclusive spot because we used a timeshare.

I went to an all-inclusive in Turks & Caicos called the Veranda. I recommend it to everyone--it was absolutely fabulous in every way!!

Check out the trip advisor reviews!

We went to an all inclusive (Excellence Punta Cana) right after the wedding for 4 days and we'll be going to Sandals La Toc in St. Lucia over Christmas vacation. We booked the resort and then booked airfare because it wasn't out yet. Our travel agent booked it for us (she's actually a friend of the family that works for Sandals).

The one in Punta Cana, DR was awesome...highly HIGHLY recommend it!

I dont think so. We didn't want to have a stop over and the only airline that I found that went nonstop to St Lucia was Jetblue so the minute the air opened, we jumped on it!

ETA: Being a teacher, we could only go on certain days so that's anoter reason why we were restricted to certain days. I dont know if its cheaper to fly one day as opposed to another...I don't get that option. However, if you're looking to go in November, just becareful of Thanksgiving weekend (big $$ in air prices) and Veterans Day weekend (I know A LOT of parents pull their kids out of school to go away).

Re: honeymoon ideas needed

We're going for a week (leaving Christmas morning coming home New Years day). A friend of the family works for Sandals so she said that this would be the best room for the money:

Honeymoon Concierge Grande Luxe Beachfront Walkout Room
Rooms come with Mahogany, four poster king size bed, 37 inch flat screen plasma TV, full bath with whirlpool tub, refined décor, walk out patio with stunning views of the pool and jade green sea and the services of our Suite Concierge. Rooms are located on the first floor of the Choiseul and Esperance buildings. View: Beach

I honestly took her word for it! She's sent TONS of people there including one of my best friends! She said that out of all the islands that have Sandals and Beaches on them, St Lucia is by far her favorite. I've gone there on cruises and loved it too.

We went to Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana DR. It was amazing. We booked it about 6 months in advance at Liberty Travel.
