Honeymoon in April - May..anyone going to the Mayan Riviera?
We just booked our honeymoon...10 days in the Mayan Riviera. Anyone else going at the end of April..where are you staying?

Going May 1 through May 7 (7 days, 6 nights) to Royal Hideaway!
Putting our deposit down by the end of next week!

When we were thinking about going there, it was down to Royal Hideaway and Secrets Excellence (for the 2 jacuzzis).

I heard great things about Royal Hideaway. Have fun! We are staying at Aventura Palace Resort. Already paid and booked our flights. Have you looked at airfare. I had a tough time finding direct flights.

I went to Secrets Capri Riviera Maya at the end of June/beginning of July. It was fun. Hot. Watch your water in-take and the meat. FH got a parasite down there.

We found direct flights, and it was about $80 less to go with the stop over flights...We're going to do non-stop obviously!
Is it an all-inclusive resort?

Yes, all of the palace resorts are all inclusive. The only airfare I could find was from JFK to Cancun for around $600 pp. I thought that was kind of high for Mexico.

No, I just looked online. I used expedia and travelocity and then called the airlines direct. I cant figure out why its so high.

I'm going through Simplicity Travel (Janet) - a vendor on here...she's given me the best prices out of five other TA's I've received quotes for.

I agree with Christine! Simplicity was the best deal by far for Riviera Maya!

We're planning for May 2 - May 9 or 10
Either Mexico, St. John, Curacao or Grand Cayman.
The only thing I'm worried about with Mexico is being down there for Cinco de Mayo?
Is that possibly why the airfare you got quoted is so high?

I went in May of this year...the airfare goes down a lot in November, if you want to wait...around $400 each out of JFK on American...good luck!

People who are Greek/Russian/Coptic Christian's (Orthodox) celebrate Easter at a different time b/c they (we) go by a different calendar.
You have nothing to worry about....and I also think we have nothing to worry about for Cinco de Mayo.
