we are thinking of oahu and Maui. where has everyone stayed for their honeymoon in those places? was the service good? did they upgrade you since it was your honeymoon? etc.

We went to Maui & Kauai. We stayed at the Hyatt on both islands. We loved it. They did upgrade us because our Travel Agent put it in our reservation that we were on our HM.
they were good? I'm just so paranoid. we went to the Bahamas two years ago, stayed at the breezes and thought it'd be so great. it ended up having no ac, and tons of other problems. we never stayed at another hotel besides one night things for anniversarys since than.

We stayed at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider and the Royal Hawaiian on Oahu (we started and ended there because we had a non stop flight).
In Maui, we stayed at the Westin. It was beautiful!
The Hyatt was close by where we stayed on both islands and it looked really nice as well.

hey twin hall!!!
we stay at the Sheraton Surfrider Moana on Oahu. OMG the hotel was amazing!!!!!! it was the first hotel built on Waikki Beach... and takes up more than 1/2 of the block! if you book oahu book the the sherton surfrider! it has it old charm and a lot of history to it. it's sooo cool when you walk into the hotel... you can walk to back and it leads you to the beach/ pacific ocean! ohau has the best restaurants!
then in Maui we stay at the Westin Spa & Resort. that was amazing as well. the only thing that we didnt like was they charge you $20 per day for internet and some other stuff.. i can't remember.. but the travel agent didn't tell us this.. mind u were charged for the internet.. but we didn't have our laptop to use their internet! then we had a internet cafe there.. but they charge you $7.00 per 15 mins??!!! i'm thinking well what is the $20 a day charge for???? but the hotel had to be one of the best ones there! beautiful modern. fm me if you want to know about the activities we did on both islands.. and if they were worth it! oh.. make sure you party hard in oahu as there not much night in Maui.

I did Maui and Oahu and I wouldnt do Oahu and do Kuai instead.
Maui was awesome, stayed at Sheraton.
Oahu was ok, too commerical, tourists, etc. Pearl harbor was cool...that was my highlight.
I rather sat in a beach chair along the beach, soaking up sun in peace in Kuai.

We are doing the same (hopefully) one week in maui and 4 nights in oahu.
What do you ladies recommened as a guideline for food/drink spending money per day? We are trying to figure out a budget. We would rather figure more than less. But figure if we are there for 10 nights we will prolly eat a fancy dinner about 6 nights and be more casual the rest of the nights.

We are doing the same (hopefully) one week in maui and 4 nights in oahu.
you may want to switch it around... ohau has sooo much to do.. you can spend the entire day walking around.. and discovering hidden spots and good restaurants.. and maui.. you have to drive everywhere... it's a pain in the butt... and there's not much to do.. except for your activities in the late afternoon... i think around day 3-4 out 7 days.. i was itching to come home (i missed my dog too) and that's a first.. as I never wanna go home from vacation! don't get me wrong.. we're talking about Hawaii here.. and it's gonn be fun and realxing no matter what! but oahu gave us the best of both worlds! it give us the city/night life that we're used to and it also gave us the island life.. it was a great balance!

Well we were going to switch it around, but maui is so much money and we are being givena timeshare so the only way we get to go to maui is if we use it there. So we have to do a week in maui and we really want to go to oahu to see surfing and pearl harbor.

I have been to Maui (not on my honeymoon, obviously) and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. I have also been to Breezes in the Bahamas and I can tell you that the two do not even begin to compare. The Hyatt was one of the most amazing hotels I have ever seen and Breezes was less than stellar to say the least. I mean, I went there for Spring Break with three of my friends and was pretty much drunk the whole time and STILL thought it sucked so thats saying something

GinaZ, I think you are fine doing a week in Maui and a shorter stay in Oahu, there's plenty to do there! We used a timeshare and did a week in Kauai and I was worried at first because most people talk more about things to do in Maui and Oahu but, we had a great time and there was plenty to do!!!
I saw you mentioned the Westin Timeshare as a possibilty? The resort/units are amazing (we own through Starwood so we went on a tour there but stayed at the Westin hotel).

Yes! We are hoping for the Westin or the Marriott- both are located in teh same area as far as I know. The westin looks a little nicer, but the marriott seems to be on a better strech of beach. So we are happy with either one!

It wasn't to their best room, but we did get upgraded. Kauai was even nicer then Maui's. FM me is you have any questions. We loved it!

FM me for his info Hes sooooo great and fast to work with, also doesnt charge any fees for his services!

The Marriott is right next to the Westin Hotel and looked very nice, they were expanding it when I was there. It's actually right between the Hyatt and the Westin Hotel. I went for a nice walk around Kanapali Beach every day - since DH and I seemed to eat our way through Hawaii! The Westin timeshare complex is a little more north than the other ones.
