Honeymoon in Rome

Has anyone been to Rome, Italy?

We are trying to plan our HM there & was wondering if anyone could recommend places to go, things to see, restaurants to eat?

Re: Honeymoon in Rome

We're spending 2 days there on our HM...I've been there before, so I rebooked the same hotel. The room is small, but that's the case of all european hotels. It's reasonably priced for Rome and is a 2-5 minute walk from the Colliseum and pantheon.
Check out this website: www.hotelcolosseum.com

You have to do the tourist things... Trevi fountain, spanish steps, colliseum, vatican. Shopping is okay. Food is good but not as great as Tuscany.

HTH!

Re: Honeymoon in Rome

I have gone to Italy several times and only once to rome. I FELL IN LOVE WITH ROME. I wish I had stayed longer. We stayed at Hotel Visconti Palace. We were able to walk everywhere and not have to use transportation to anything but the airport. I loved Piazza Navona and we ate dinner at Tre Scallini. Awesome place for dinner. There is so much to do there...The Vatican, Vatican Museum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Borghese Gardens, Villa Borghese, Colluseum, spanish steps, SHOPPING! There is so much to do there you will LOVE it!

I stayed in a hostel in Rome called the beehive which was cheap and actually really nice. We had our own room in something like a suite and there was a little kitchen....very clean and cute and in a great location. I would be careful by the Vatican -there's a lot of pick pocketers- so be aware! I was walking with my bookbag on my back- the main section was locked but the little pouch wasn't. As I walked past a building I noticed in the windoow a little girl walking directly behind me unzippering my bag...when I turned around she backed up and walked away with what looked like her father. Just keepa close eye on your stuff!
