Anyone planning on going? I looked online and there are 100 sites all leading me back to the same place - is there only one company that cornered the market for honeymoons in this area?
Looks so beautiful - and affordable!!!
So tell me - anyone else planning to go to Thailand?

I would check on status of locations before booking. You don't know if there's still repairs being made after that horrible tsunami.

I'm not going there, but my SIL is from there and she is going to be visiting there with my twin nieces for a month!

I heard that they fixed it up after the tsunami - remember they had Miss Universe or whatever there? Everyone who saw it said that place looks like its for us.... I thought the same thing about the tsunami, but someone I know went there this past summer and she said the place is still beautiful!!!

I did see part of the Miss Universe contest on TV. It does look really nice there. I think it's a nice choice, totally different.

Re: Honeymoon in Thailand?
We are probably going to go in January. My FI is from England and I am moving there after the wedding. Andrew wants to go to New Zealand but when we get married in August it will be winter there. So will wait for January. Anyway, since it is a 24 hour trip from England to New Zealand we probably will stop off in Thailand. My fiance has been everywhere is family are native travelers. Its nearly the one place he hasn't been to. Keep me informed!

We're not honeymooning there but I've been to Thailand and it's soooo gorgeous and exotic! Can I ask what made you choose that location?
If you want to FM me for info, I could tell you about my experiences and what you should prepare for. If you want to do a bit more independent travel instead of a planned tour, you can get better prices but it can be harder to organize. There definitely are not as many 'honeymoon' tour operators there as you found out, but you could also do a strict 'resort stay' and plan your own outings.
Everything is so exciting there! Here's a photo of when I was sipping fresh coconut milk which is a ritual - the locals love to split open the coconut for you as a friendly gesture. Don't laugh at the pic, I was exhausted from over 15 days of nonstop traveling.

Yes - please share with me when you get back - if you remember me! I'm sure I won't be in the forefront of your mind - so I will seek you out!!!

It is our first choice right now (but I hate to fly)....we will probably do Bangkok & four other islands, Phuket & Samui & Phi Phi ....I found a great site....a 2 week honeymoon in 5 star hotels will be around 5-6K, which is really cheap..... http://www.vacationhoneymoon.com

That's the same place as all the other websites I found - they all start out different, but once you click on the packages, they all take you to the same place - the prices and packages look awesome - don't they???
