Honeymoon Insurance?

Honeymoon Insurance?

FH & I are getting ready to book our honeymoon, and were offered the option to purchase honeymoon insurance.

Its about $90 a person.

We're going to a Sandals resort, and they offer their own hurricane guarantee.

Did you get honeymoon insurance????

I can tell you I have always taken insurance, but be careful I learned that a lot of the insurnace thats included, doesn't always include things like if you get sick, or need to leave early or plane delays... the best place to get insurance for trips where you can sort of customize the things you want, and not take the things you feel you won't need is insuremytrip.com... I've used it for all my vaca's and its great! HTH

Yes, we got it, and we're also going to Sandals. I'm chronically ill, so there's always a chance that I could get very ill and not be able to go on the honeymoon. Besides, it's always a good idea anyway for anyone, if you're spending a lot of money. If you're going away on a quick super-saver long weekend and the insurance becomes a significant expense, don't bother. But when you're paying $5K (or whatever you're paying) for anything, you should have insurance.

YES!!!! It's always a good idea to get insurance on a big trip - ANYTHING can happen, god forbid, and if you need to cancel, do you want to take the chance that you lose your money?

I know there was an '06 bride whose FIL passed away the week of or before the wedding and they had to cancel their honeymoon. Luckily she had trip insurance and they were able to not lose their money and they were able to rebook their honeymoon for this year.

Obviously we don't wish for this to happen to anyone, but you just never know.

I think it is worth it. I feel like if I don't get it, something will happen, but now that we have it, we wont need it.

It is def. a small price to pay considering everything I have spent so far.

We are staying at Sandals and got honeymoon insurance as well. We got the one that covers just about everything. Figure better be safe than sorry.

Looks like the yes's have it!

Its what FH & I were leaning towards (in the scheme of things, what's $180!), but I was really curious what everyone's opinoin was.

Re: Honeymoon Insurance?

I was told that we could only get insurance for death or illness... so we didn't get it. Sandals is the only resort that seems to offer hurricane insurance

We absolutely did. Just for the piece of mind alone. FH is a worry wart! So it was worth it so that I didn't need to hear him freak out about it!

We are going to Couples Swept Away and we got the insurance. We debated about it but with it being hurricane season we loved that if the weather looked bad a week or so in advance we would not have to wait and see, we could just cancel and rebook somewhere else.
