Have you looked in RIU hotels? I was thinking Sandals for our honeymoon, but they are expensive. A friend of mine is getting married this June and is spending 10 days in Jamaica at the RIU there and with airfare they are paying a little over $3000.

I got a few prices for all inclusive stuff in Jamaica & Bahamas for $1800-$2500 a couple, not including airfare...its possible :)

Yeah, I was looking at Sandals... LOL. Thats what got me all upset! I know there are some options. FH loves cruises... We found one out of Puerto Rico, but I wanna do something a bit more special for a HM...

I think we are doing Vegas. The hotels and airfare is usually cheap and they give out a lot of free drinks!

Excellence Resorts are cheaper and I think Secrets.

I know what you mean! Sandal resorts are gorgeous, but pricey!!! I would love to go to St. Lucia, but I don't know if it will fit into our budget, especially with airfare! I may look into RIU. They have a few resorts in Mexico and there is one in Aruba too. And the RIU is all inclusive, which is what I definitely want for a honeymoon

i know, the sandals prices are scary high. but one thing that is important to me is couples only for the honeymoon.....I don't want to deal with running/screaming kids on the one romantic trip i'm taking lol

i heard Riu is good, and also in mexico the palace resorts are really nice...they have a couples only one called sun palace...

Sandals resorts are CRAZY expensive!!

The Sun Palace Resort in Cancun is couples only, all inclusive, and has great deals including airfare. All the Palace resorts cost the same (I believe). I went to the Beach Palace a few years ago and paid $1,700 for an entire week including airfare, transportation to and from the airport, all activities (trip to Isla Mujeres, Chichen Itza, and water park to swim with the dolphins) and the food at the activities. Also included 24 hour room service and calls to the US.

Highly recommend you check it out, and good luck!!!!

I was looking into cruises, but we are getting married in July and there is no really good cruises then

I have a really bad fear of flying so even though FH wants to go to France I don't see it happening :(

$5K is definitely possible. have you considered speaking to a travel agent? They can get you discounts

I priced a trip to the Exellence in Punta Cana it's an All Inclusive, adults only resort and for air fare and everything it was less than $3500 for like 10 days HTH :)

Sometimes if you plan your own trip instead of getting a travel agent you save a ton of $$$. FH and I went to Greece last year for 10 days and spent $4K for the whole trip .. that was including airfare, hotel, ferries, transportation and food. It can be done.

Speak to a travel agent. We worked with Amy Asch - [email protected]

She tried to talk us OUT of Sandals since it's expensive and there are other couples only all inclusives that she said are much cheaper and better, but we were pretty set on St. Lucia and Sandals.
