If you had the choice between a one week honeymoon right after the wedding or waiting a few months and then taking a 10-14 day trip which would you pick?

Re: Honeymoon Opinion
ewww...the 14 day honeymoon sounds nice. what are the options regarding destination? is the destination the same? for instance, we went to aruba for 8 days. we would have loved to have stayed 10 days in total, but i think staying 14 days would have been more than necessary. but ifyou are going to some place that has a lot of touristy places, that might make a difference. ie: going to aruba for relaxing or going to italy and being able to tour the country. aruba is only yay big, so not a lot of tourism. but hawaii has several islands so 14 days might be great. but also, i thought about waiting to leave for the honeymoon so that we could settle in and visit with family that came to see the wedding. dh was adament and just wanted to go. i have to say that there was something special about leaving right away. anyway, sorry so long. my opinon is that it would depend on the desitnation.

Re: Honeymoon Opinion
personally, i dont like trips that are super long... for some reason after 5 days or so, i get super ansy to get back home... I feel like I always have SO much to do at home, that I cant fully enjoy myself while on a long vacation, because all i think about is the things I could be doing once I get home... i also usually need a day or two to unwind from the vacation before I head back to work.... However, if my trip was goign to Europe and we planned to visit a whole bunch of places... i might choose the longer vacation, because that may keep me from getting bored and ansy...

Re: Honeymoon Opinion
I think 10 days is perfect for me. I also wouldn't mind waiting a little while after the wedding. It would give me a chance to get all the wedding stuff handled and I could go awy with a clear mind and not have to worry about all the stuff I had to do when I returned.

Re: Honeymoon Opinion
I love long trips and we were away for two weeks after the wedding BUT-- if I were you, I would go away right after... You will NEED that vacay right after the wedding.
Take another trip later in the year when you have more time--

I have to agree! And being that by the time the wedding rolled around I was a stressed mess - I needed to get away fast!

I think I'm going to want to get away, but I love long vacations, so I would only do the 14 day vacation later if we could take a few days right after the wedding too, to Vegas, or Disney, or anywhere really just to get a little break.

Re: Honeymoon Opinion
I needed that getaway so badly immediately after the wedding. I would go right after if possible. I wouldn't trade an extra 7 days for it....life is too short to wait to go on your HM if you can avoid it.

Re: Honeymoon Opinion
I would rather take the HM right away, while I am at the peak of that 'newlywed feeling' that I assume we will all get after we are married
